Theres positivity / negativity and been generally realistic.
Shall I say "Oh we are brilliant, and Coca Cola will supply us with 1 million bottles of coke on the tic because weve got some new guys in charge and we are changing the way we work ?" Wouldnt be further than the truth to be honest in the real world.'"
Nobody is expecting you to say everythings "brilliant" as you put it because clearly it is not. However the club have recognised that there is an issue with the outsourcing of the catering and are trying to address it so why be so negative?
Having now met Michael Carter and heard him speak with truth and honesty about the situation, I am willing to believe in him and give him a chance. Let's face it, what other choice do we have? I don't believe for one minute he would be looking to bring the catering back in house if he thought that it wasn't the best way forward and if he didn't have a plan in place to make it work.
He laid it bare last night, and told us what we need to know. The club will now be run to a tight budget and will be run so that expenditure is never greater than income.
We know the budget for playing staff next year, and we also know that if WE (as fans) get off our backsides and contribute that that budget will be increased.
The quality of team we can put out depends entirely on the fans backing the club. 3000 season tickets allows us to run with the budget that has already been set (£1.1M), anything more than that allows us to spend more on players. It's not a difficult equation to understand, back the club and we can move forward, give up and we will end up with a team that just can't compete no matter how much spirit they have.
It's now the choice of the Wakefield fans - DO YOU WANT A SUPER LEAGUE CLUB???
