I suspect you are bang on. Nice blokes who eveyone likes sometimes don't make the best leaders

I doubt it probably more interested how Castleford are doing but speaking for myself I am just bored of the constant speculation by so called experts. If I was involved with the club I would stay clear of reading the forum which they probably do because at best those who write on here may be some of the more dedicated followers but represent only about 5% of the supporters. I believe some take these opportunities to voice their prejudices against not only the coaching staff but players as well.

| A lot more than 5% walked out early doors at our last couple of home games so you could argue only 5% of supporters think Agar is a good coach.End of day we all have a view on whats going on and whos right or wrong but when the coach sticks Mathers on the wing the evidence in this case is rather one sided My Lord.

Morrison reminds me a bit of Radford at Hull FC - not a brilliant coach by any means with not much experience but he knows how to get the best out of the players - Shaul, Rankin, Bowden, Colburn and Miller have all vastly inproved this term.'"
I read somewhere that Brett Hodgson,as at Widnes, had been taken to Hull FC to work with the backs - rlThis just mentions Shaulrl
As for Leigh, they can apparently afford Super League players that some Super League clubs cannot afford.I'm certain they signed an ex-Wakey player recently - to add to their haul of ex-Super League players.

| Can we please revert to Mathers at full back and Sammut and Godinet as the halves. It was working dammit. Stop messing and rotating players before its too late this season. (I can already hear the anti-Mathers brigade assembling).

| I'm starting to disagree with that, and I called for it originally.
I'm liking Sammut at full back and while we are down on centres Mathers is covering there.
Godinet certainly should be scrum half in my opinion
Stand off is up for grabs between Siejka and Sykes

| Mathers/Sammut/Godinet worked well against London, Catalans and even Saints.
However, Agar broke up that just so he accommodate some average auzzie who hadn't played for 10 bloody months. With Sammut and Godinet Sykes should be nowhere near the halves, and only used as cover for centre or even loose forward as lets face it Washbrook is useless there. Sorry but you don't see other coaches messing with the team selection week in/week out. We seem to be stuck with him which is a shame because by the time he figures out his best 17 it'll be too late.

Every other coach had 3 months pre season with all there squad. So let's give Agar that amount of time before everyone bags him. If we haven't sorted it and arent playing with a settled squad by round 15 then your might be right about Agar

But he didn't do that at all.
Mathers was poor and Agar said he thought putting Sammut there would give us better attacking options.
That's not the same as just accommodating Siejka.
Personally Sammut is fine at full back, that isn't the issue with the team.

| Its not like Sammut is being played out position his early career was at FB. IMO he offers better attack then Mathers especially with enough room which he will get. He can then come into the attack.
Siejka has shown good signs but yet lacks match fitness and has the better kicking game of our halves. Lets not shoot him down when he has played in two games and both our forwards lost the middle of the park. He could be a good signing.

I can live with that but the bit I don't understand is why do we have to play Mathers as a centre or a winger, when clearly he is neither.

Perhaps a matter of 'needs must', as I understand it, Fox was a late withdrawal due to injury for the Cas game, so RM was the back in the squad to be drafted into the starting line up. For the Hudds game we were scratching round for centres with both Reece L and Dean C being injured and so there were few options.

| I did wonder at the game about Mathers but one thing I noticed was Lyne and Mathers switching occassionally. I know Lyne does this sometimes but it occurred to me that last year we had two weak wingers under the high ball.
In that game we played against a great kicker who could have hammered us there.
Mathers and Riley were quite strong under high ball.
Clearly there were other issues but it might have been a good one off change if other things hadn't gone wrong.
