| I haven't bought a season ticket for the last 2 years having been a season ticket holder for a long time prior to that. I have to say that this appointment will not be prompting me to get 1 for next year either. This is the first setback for me of the AG rein as it doesn't demonstrate any ambition going forward at the coaching level, it is a 'safe' option. If we were happy to go with safe options I would have preferred John Kear to have been given the luxury that he never had in all of his time at Wakefield and build a team from a sound financial backing. I'm sure he would have been at least as successful as Richard Agar is likely to be.

| Im gutted about this appointment, if agars the best man for the job then theres some very poor candidates out there. I wonder who his main rivals were, mickey mouse and mike bassett must have been 2 of the candidates. Anyone serious believe that this will improve the club????

| If it wasn't to be Gentles then who would people have wanted. Coaches from lower divisions are out of touch with Superleague.......remember Peter Roe what a farce he turned out to be. So Millward...no thanks...Powell...no thanks
Noble...maybe Cummings/Poaching...a real risk...Goulding/Schofield...least said the better although some on this board deserve them with the comments being handed out!!! For Gods sake get a grip who the hell did people think would take on WTW? Mr. Glover ignore the idiots and please get on with rebuilding our great club.

| oh well not my ideal choice but in reality who was our ideal coach!!!!!! people seem to think just because AG has taken over the club we have endless amounts of money to spend which we all know is not going to happen!
Agar may have been 2nd 3rd or even 4th choice with our board but for 1 reason or another but he has managed to become our coach for the next 3 season so lets just give him a chance, because if he fails we all fail,if he is successful then we all have something to cheer! if not we can all tell AG wetold you so!

| As a Hull fan, I wish Rich all the very best. He's a top bloke, very honest, who has a canny knack of attracting top players to a club eg Fitzy, O'Meley, Briscoe brothers and Long (albeit the latter was unlucky with injuries!). I think it was just time for a all round change at Hull with a new owner, DoR and direction. We have under-performed this year and some of Hull's players have let Agar down at times, with only down really playing to their potential. Best of luck Rich for the future.

| Not my preferred choice either but only based on his results with Hull which have been better of late, I suppose. I just worry that he's cut from the same cloth as Kear.
But he's the Wakefield coach now and has my support and I hope he goes well for us.

| As a few people have asked but no ones answered from those of you who are moaning about the appointment of Agar and saying things like jobs for the boys, if Gentle and Millward are out of the equation who would they have picked to be HC and would he have been guaranteed to do better than Agar?

What a stupid question nobody on this earth could be guaranteed to do better.

| Quote: bren2k "I'm feeling much more optimistic about the appointment than I thought I would and the more one-eyed Hull idiots who post their daft opinions, the better I feel.
On balance, Agar was not the HC most of us hoped for, but we've appointed the best man who was available - I'm ok with that.
All that remains is for us all to buy a cheap ST - I'll be getting three this weekend - and to get behind the bloke for next season; perhaps without the Hull faithful baying for his blood and without Kath Hetherington interfering, he'll do ok for us.'"
Yet it was only last Saturday that you said he is the worst possible coach to take WTW to where they want to be.

i Know no ones guaranteed to do better and could have worded it better but the question still stands and the general point is not stupid bud.

| The question doesn't stand in that form, had you have asked who do we think would have a chance of doing a better job then it wouldn't be a stupid question.

Just putting it out there, maybe he's thought about it and changed his mind, or at least sees the positives of it, does happen you know.

True, last night a couple of people hinted at noble. Could be much worse.
