Seem to recall that access was the big problem with this site, and when Thornes Park then entered the discussion, it was an obvious road to follow. With hindsight, of course, we're all wiser.

| Talking to a WMDC Cabinet Councillor Cas fan today who described WTW as being in the now due to the PI which he claims we have known was going to happen all along, but then went on to say Cas were equally in the because even though they were putting in for Planning Permission this week, their funding package was a few million short. I know it's been said before, but just thought I would repeat it!

Considering the fact there is only one access road into the former power station of Doncaster Road they could have always used the back access road from the back of Eastmoor, then again one access road already in place is better than no access road at all as is the case now at Newmarket. That sir is how well I do not know that area.

| There's two issues here,
Franchising
stadium delivery
I know to some extent they are entwined but the club or clubs that eventually deliver a stadium will be the ones that have a long term future.
If the PI delay costs Trinity a franchise but the Newmarket development gets built sometime down the line then the club will win out eventually.
On the other hand if Castlefords perceived greater progression toward a stadium wins them a franchise for now, their inability to deliver a stadium will be their downfall in the end.

Don't see it that way at all mate. The land loans are apparently dependent on the clubs being in super league. They will be reviewed again after the franchise decision has been made. We won't have a franchise, I'm sure of that. Cas will take on the land loan intended for us, because it's all about delivering a stadium in the WFD area, and Wakey council will have delivered. The remaining celebrations in front of the town hall you can imagine for yourself.

that would cost a lot of money to build a road their with a river and a railway to cross.

this sounds like councillor mark burns williams and ive always found him to be straight talking and someone who tells the truth "well he`s always been accurate with what he`s said in the past" not bad for a person from the council.he would be right in saying cas are 2 million short to complete the build on the stadium but thats without any sponsorship money or initatives like the buy a brick scheme and there will be more chances to invest at a later date.
imho getting the last 2 million should be straight forward and much easier to get sponsorship and funds has the investers see the stadium going up,their will certainly be plenty of business`s up at exscape alone than will want to be advertised within the stadium, once this fpp has been accepted that will then become the clubs focus.
also makes you wonder why nobody else from either swag or wtw didnt think newmarket would go to a public inquiry when concillors new all along thats how it would go and the ones i spoke to said the same.anyway now it has gone to a public inquiry i hope its a quick process for you and yorkcourt stand by you so newmarket can happen it the not too distant future.

Oh, you mean the 'hidsighters'! It's easy to say they 'knew' all along, when the truth is that no-one 'knew' and different people in the council had a different opinion of the outcome. We genuinely felt that there was a good case for NM - which was not shared by the regional office.
The main point of note here should be that ALL the parties involved here have resolved to see through this process to it's succesful conclusion!

£2m short? Is that before or after WR has been sold.

Posted this before, but my personal (i.e. educated guesswork) it will be after the sale of WR but before any sponsorship.
Sale of 'The Coliseum'! 4.9M - people seem to be saying that is realistic, the original agreement was 6.9M but we all know whats happened since then!
WMDC Loan - 2M
Waystone contribution already agreed - 1M (however they did say this may well be upped)
Buy a Brick and Club 50 - 300k (Bricks have sold well so another 'issue' should be imminent)
So about 8.2M.
As I said though thats without ANY sponsorship - PROBIZ have put a significant amount of money in and there is the sale of boxes, stand naming etc etc.
Definitely enough to build three stands and meet the RFL SL's criteria, however with all the opportunities the club can explore the fourth may well go up next year as well.
As I said that is only my best guess but it is conservative, if anyone knows more please add on your info.
