To me that smells like actions of a desperate man. I am sure that many of the level headed Cas fans will see it for what it is worth. No doubt if the RFL do look into it, he will already have a spin on it.
Back to the hearing it appears that LCC at not against the development on any grounds other than we want it for the money it will bring, we are bigger and therefore deserve it. Maybe they can put it on their supertram route. Oh wait, that doesn't exist yet does it.

| The letter from Richard Wright to the Nimbys just shows what a snivelling little worm the man is. People like Wright will stoop to any depth just to save their own skins.

Earlier in the thread it was indicated he responded to a request from the objection group. If what you say is correct I would share your disgust at what could be considered a proactive attempt to undermine the long term prospects of a fellow club.

Agreed, but what exactly is he offering to share?
What relevance is a non existent stadium.
I realise they will claim they actually have planning permission, but is that really relevant. I could gain planning permission to build a house made of gold to replace my existing house and invite him to live their. However as I don't have the money to build it, it's a hollow offer.
As such I would hope his comments will be ignored as the self interest they clearly are.

It was a request from the objection group, doesn't change anything and he should have kept well out of it, he's still gone out of his way to try to derail the stadium at NM, it just makes him look like what he is, a douchebag.

| As it stands, Cas can't build at Glasshoughton with or without us. Even if we said tomorrow "ok we agree to share a ground at Glasshoughton" the same problem Cas face now would exist then. There is no money for the project. Even with us on board, there is still no money for the project. Who the hell would pay for it?
That's why Newmarket works. It is self sufficient. One leg supports the other. Without the industrial units, the stadium has no means to fund itself.
All his letter has done is demonstrate that his own ship is sinking. Rather than stand by and watch us rewrite our own future he is trying to rewrite it for us. Sadly, and he knows this to be the case, if he does get his own way, all he will have done is pull us to wallow in the same economic limbo he currently finds himself in.
The last thing we need to turn this into is an "us against them" debate, which is what Wright is trying to do. Even if questioned by the RFL he can provide the response that he was merely trying to offer us a chance to play out of a new stadium where planning has already been approved. The thing the inspector needs to be made aware of however is that right now, and for the foreseeable future, Glasshoughton is a sheet of paper, and nothing more.
Desperate times call for desperate measures. This merely highlights how bitter the rivalry is, and how ignorant the man is.

I fully accept RW's right to fight his corner by all acceptable means, but as you say this would appear not to be what most fair minded fans consider acceptable.
If he were being fair and acting within the spirit of the game a simple no comment would have done. I don't expect his support but I do not expect him to support those who oppose which is effectively what he is doing.

| Richard Wright should be fined for bringing the game into Disrepute, he is active in trying to destory another rugby league clubs future, if he gets away with it, will other clubs try the same to other clubs, the Rugby Football League should investigate...

Surely that will come out in due course and like you say it doesn't matter if we jump aboard GH, it isn't going to get built any quicker if it all.

100% agree!
It smacks of his last chance to manipulate things in order to get his hands on the funding that York Court would provide should Wakefield be forced to share at GH. He knows he's got no money, no prospect of getting any money and his web of deceit and spin is soon to be revealed.
His days as Cas Chairman and the salary he's enjoyed by prolonging the inevitable with regular yet hollow updates and messages of false hope to the Cas faithful are almost up. He knows it, the gravy train is about to hit the buffers and when it does he has zero future in Cas as his unpopularity will eclipse that of Pearman. That's why he's paving the way for his exit by closing his business interests in Cas and getting the flock outa there.

Can't wait for fully to come along and justify the letter

| The letter is written in reply to a request and confirms that Castleford were willing to partake in a feasibility study into the 2 stadium projects in the summer of 2010.
This was at the point when Cas had realised that they weren't going to be able to raise sufficient funds for GH and it was an attempt to re-direct funds from the council and from NM to the GH project. SWAG and the club (Ted at the time) agreed that it was not right to go into this without the formation of strict guidelines beforehand. The idea was scrapped.
RW makes no mention of the suggestion to undertake exactly the same type of process previously, dating back to the early formation of NM.
Whatever his point may be, it beggars belief that a fellow club would involve themselves in a process such as this and it is, as others have said, a very low blow indeed which harms the reputation of himself and (to a lesser degree) his club.
We have known about this letter for weeks but have waited until it was in the public domain before commenting.

Unless I read it wrong it goes a bit further than that TRB, correct me if I am wrong but dosn't it strongly suggest there is no desperate need at all for Wakefield to want a stadium as one is easily achievable for them at Glasshoughton should they so choose. This thereby undermines the central issue at the PH and the main reason why WMDC are backing the newmarket development on Greenfield land.
Also the way I read it, he tells the nimbys wakefield have been unreasonable and acted in their own self interest by persuing newmarket and not going along with his suggestion to share at Glasshoughton
