| Think some people need to be stuffing their faces with humble pie. Well played Wakefield.

| I listened to todays game on Radio Humberside, the commentators were fair in their criticism of HKR and praise of Trinity. They claimed that the recent press reports about Trinity were not as a result of a player's comments but from a "disgruntled former board member" I wonder who that could be !

| Whoever it was they've done us a massive favour. We were in a rut in a meaningless season and could finished it like a damp squib. Admittedly it has been against the weaker teams in the competition but we have looked a much tighter unit and more importantly look happy again.

They did though I doubt that was the intention.
I speculate that the players were offered the chance to air their grievances, Chester listened and said if I take some of your ideas on board will show me what you can do? That doesn’t mean CC capitulated as I suspect the game plan was still his but one that was modified to suit the team as it currently is.
It’s how management works. It’s not about getting your way it’s about getting others to see it your way, it’s subtle but it’s there. I doubt that all that much changed in terms of style, tactic and positions in truth but everyone likes to think they are being listened too. That’s probably all it needed, at least in the short term, a lesson learned I hope.

| So are we saying the 2 wins are in spite of covid issues, injuries etc, and the 10 defeats because of covid issues, injuries etc?!!!! The performances simply weren't good enough to warrant winning, maybe the players stopped feeling sorry for themselves, rolled up their sleeves and had a go!! It just looked like a team free of something today, especially in the 1st half. There are a lot of talented players in this squad who have been underperforming badly for whatever 'reasons.' Great to see smiles and enjoyment back again!!

| Nice to see a more familiar looking back line, more reminiscent of that of a more successful period. Hopefully a more settled side can now see the season out with a smile.

There are a lot of factors in play both on losing 10 then winning two. Success hinges on small things. Had we pulled back that first Wigan game I wonder where we would be now, but we didn’t and we went backwards especially with the loss of TJ and a few others in that game. It was pivotal as was last Thursday but in a very different way.

I would suggest the ex board member is the one that tried to take over another rugby league club, as he went to a well known public school for boys in Wakefield with a certain chief sports writer of the Daily Star.

| Let's not speculate without actual evidence. They are real people you are talking about and can cause a lot of problems if you are wrong.

It’s not exactly rocket science when you look into it...
We lost nine straight after lockdown...
Seven of those were against teams currently sat in the top four.
One was a ‘home’ game against Huddersfield that we ended up playing at theirs and was an even game barring Aidan Sezer who was the clear difference between two struggling sides....the other loss being a tight game against a depleted Hull side but we were depleted too...Hull were favourites to win the game at every bookies in the land....
We didn’t have home advantage in any of those games which for a team like us is a major plus...we had injuries, disruptions and were in a rut and low on confidence....we slowly started getting our star players and match winners back on the field though...game changers like Johnstone and Fifita...our pack leaders and experience in Ashurst and Arona and I’d even add BJB into that.
We’ve then taken on two beatable teams...Huddersfield without them having home advantage and came through to win that, then the first game since lockdown that we’ve been favourites to win...with home advantage...with the majority of our quality players on the field and we’ve put them to the sword...
You could see in the first half the confidence come flooding back...giving the ball some air, offloads, numerous players backing breaks up etc...
That’s how I see it anyway...

Yeah but you're kind of missing the point......I know for a fact if we had lost yesterday it would have been because of late withdrawals, 2nd game in 4 days etc etc.....they are not reasons, they are excuses!! You talk about previous games, we lost to Hull, Wigan, Saints, we lost because someone knocked on in the 71st minute, threw the ball into touch in the 67th minute, gave a stupid penalty away etc etc, they are actual reasons why we lost those games?! When the players were out there in those games in the heat of battle, no-one is thinking about covid issues etc, they just didn't play well enough to win. Most of the other games were just very poor performances, bordering on unprofessional. Catalans away we were virtually at full strength, hardly any disruption with team changes, same 17 and had 8 days to prepare against a team who were playing their 3rd game in 7 days, and we were abysmal, explain?! Anyway i'm pleased we have performed better and finally given us something to smile about

Couldn't agree more.
There have been some poor performances, Catalan being the one that springs to mind, but sometimes it goes wrong. That's just the point. No one would have minded that if the others had been ok, but because of the reasons you give above, they weren't. I'm not saying it was ok to lose so many on the bounce, but in this situation it was perfectly understandable.
Even just the not playing at home thing is a pretty big thing. Remember how St Helens fair when they had to play a season at Widnes? They really struggled. And they were a lot better than us.
