| Quote KevW60349="KevW60349"What about the Twenty Vaults on York Street. Charlie and Mary were landlord and landlady when I started going in..me and about a dozen mates off Eastmoor used to start there back in the 60's I remember Charlie always wore a battered old pair of white tennis pumps.we used to leave there and then to Talbot & Falcon Black Rock Strafford White Horse and Mitre with sometimes pubs a bit lower down Westgate thrown in for good measure.great days late 60's and 70's for Wakefield pubs and nightlife. Twenty Vaults eventually became New York bar and we used to finish off in there for last hour or so at weekends.talk about sardines packed in a can it was standing room only every night. Halcyon days indeed.

No poplar, I was talking about Normy/Wakefield being quiet, not the NYB.

Kevin W*** eh small world old lad, Baz Lindop and me played with you when we got changed at the Albion, decent team but we had to leave when it turned out we were slightly too old.
I played centre to Howelly and made him some tries went to Brookhouse u19s from there, then finished up at Wakey in u19s with Terry Crook, then got distracted with things far more important

| What was the pub (hexagonal or round shaped) just after the first Southbound M1 junction from the M62? We played there a couple of times with a band I was in in the mid 70's ealy 80's. I think Mike Storey was the booking agent.
