| Haven't read though all the posts. I would be interested to know when Bradford will be getting their 4 point deduction for going into administration? If this has been answered apologies but this little issue seems to have been brushed under the general SL carpet...are they going to be allowed the financial benefit of the play offs or will this be brought in next year

I think the points deduction can be amended based on the amount they propose to pay their creditors, so that would explain the delay; the RFL can't adjudicate on that until the deal has been finalised.

Not helping the Bulls directly but donating ticket sales to Bullbuilder who are supporting those made redundant by the Administrator.
Warrington were the only Club who gave us support when we went into Administration.
Well done Warrington.

This I have no issue with whatsoever and actually it is what Leeds should have done last week instead of giving directly to the club (assuming that's what they did).
I agree, well done to Warrington for that gesture.

| "and being given a guarantee that Bradford will remain in Super League"
I don't see how they can do that, all clubs can have the licence revoked at any time during this period of franchise, now i hope it works out for Bradford but we can't have a different rule for 1 from 14 clubs.
I also understand why the ABC will insist on this guarantee before signing up.
Its a bit of a dilema for the game and the RFL.

| I don't see how the RFL can guaraantee SL for Bradford as they would not do so for Wakey. All clubs should be treated the same, we know thats no true though don't we!

| The Super League thing isn't really a problem, is it? We weren't booted out, and nor were Crusaders, when coming out of administration. The real dilemma is whether the RFL will agree to sell the lease. The consortium is offering big money, which suggests that they really want the Odsal. If the RFL give it up, they cannot stop the new owners doing what they want to do with it, subject to the agreement from the local authority, etc. The ownership issue is irrelevant, I imagine, because ABC seem made up of proper business people. But do the RFL refuse to sell Odsal and potentially consign the Bulls to the rubbish tip, or do they sell it and potentially say goodbye to an "iconic" piece of rugby league history?
My impression: they will not sell the lease, Bulls go bust, and the RFL allow someone else to set up a newco playing out of their Odsal.

It is because ABC won't bid without that guarantee, i doubt they'll sell back the lease without "terms" and i doubt ABC will accept those terms.
I can't see any way out for Bradford at SL level, they'll have to go under and start again.

But we were not guaranteed a franchise. That's why Steve Parkin pulled out, he wanted a guarantee of a franchise and he even offered to sponsor the World Cup but the RFL would not, indeed could not guarantee us a franchise. It was the new company, Spirit of 1873 Ltd that applied for and successfully won a franchise.
Similarly if the RFL give or sell thelease back for anything less than what they paid for it (£1.25m) and place covenants on Odsals use then they should have a great deal to answer for to the the member clubs which includes the Championship Clubs as we all contribute to RLF funds through the levies I believe.
If the RFL give in to the ABC Consortium they may as well come out and admit that franchising is a joke and a waste of time and tell all those Championship Clubs that aspire to SL that they have not got a chance. Similarly they may as well tell us, Castleford abd Salford to prepare for the chop because we're going before the likes of Bradford whatever they do or debts they run up.
This may sound hypocritical after our administration but we were given no guarantees and we and Andrew Glover had accepted that we may have to drop down to the Championship. As it happened we secured a franchise but I belive that was due to Andrew's stewardship.
By the way, nearly finished Beyond Evil, another cracking read.

Not quite the same though.
Allegedly, Parkin wanted a guarantee of a licence 2012-2014, back in 2011, the last year of that licence period.
Presumably, the Bradford consortium wants assurances for the remainder of this licence period.
As has already been alluded to, the lease conundrum is the main sticking point.
When the deal is agreed (I’m of the opinion that it was never in doubt) I wonder if we’ll get to know how much the RFL sell it back for & what’s the timeline for the said repayments.
Maybe, they’ll give it back free of charge, many people will squeal for a while & it’ll just get put in the album with the rest of their calamitous faux pas.
