well kear will not go weve no money, but i can see him getting some right flak this season. the richardsons run the club like a family corner shop, its our club, the fans and we should damand change through protest. we cant keep going on like this, yes imloyal to the club but we wont have much left if this carries on. do you think fans will desert us next year, it looks like were in for the fight of our lives to save the club, ted and the rest will have to be carried out kicking and screaming. he will never sell he likes the limelight too much

Sorry fact is I think there is nothing fans can do, theres no one to sell club to so theres no one we can back, unless someone with megabucks comes along in next 12-18 months or so I think we may be heading for at best the nl or at worst for the end, simple fact is our base of home fans was not enough last year, i fear it will be less this year, and when we move away it will diminish again, thus the money will keep going down and the playing standards will drop leading to gates dropping further etc etc etc its a spiral and its already started.
The only action we can take is to try and face facts and ask ourselves honestly what do we want from our club?
And perhaps face the toughest 2 decisions ever,
1 do we need to put in for a franchise now or drop a league and consolidate / rebuild
2 Do we need newmarket until the above has happened?

Yeah, it's a personal thing. I hate bazzo44 and get a real buzz from locking his threads. Just can't help myself. Now if you want to add anything to that, do it by PM.

| Quote: trinfan71 "1. The reason people have a go at these two in particular is because they are simply in the firing line because of the way they defend the club (rightly of wrongly). As I posted on another thread some time ago people need someone to shake a stick at when they want / need answers. The club that people are so quick to defend are the one's who put these individuals in the firing line. What we have is a couple of passionate supporters who have gone above and beyond the role of the casual supporter. As far as every supporter being committed to the cause - they are committed to the cause, but no believing in the BoD or people within the club does not make a person any less committed. If you are looking for everyone to go along with everything club has to offer at the moment then can I suggest you move to Disneyland. You will find the fairytale you are looking for there.
For argument sake can you please tell me how a club that barely survives season after with decreasing attendances would be better off without the supporters who see it differently.
The fact is we are in this position because of the Chairman and the Board of Directors. They were taken in by Pearman, there are the one's who promised that our stadium would be updated when we won our right to super league (on appeal). Three years ago they were aware that things needed to be done to either sort out Belle Vue or to move. Once again they have struggled to deliver but have never struggled to point the finger at other people when it goes wrong. It's true what they say about excuses 'They are like butt holes, everyone has one and they all stink.'
The frustration comes from the lack of information, whether it be good or bad. I, along with many others don't expect the club to publicly state their accounts or go into great detail, but surely there would be less doom and gloom if somebody told us what was being done to try and maintain our future not only in Super League but as a club.
Just a simple statement along the lines of 'We as a club are frustrated at the decision for the current stadium plans but please bear with us. We have a fall back plan, unfortunately we are not in a position to release details until after our shareholders meeting.'
Instead some vague line now and again followed by the standard 'Together we are stronger''"
Not got an issue with the rest of the post, but to say that the club have struggled to deliver on the Stadium issue is a bit tight.
As someone involved in a small way in the process I saw at close hand the way in which WMDC duped us and dumped us - they were utterly convincing when promising Thornes and there is plenty of evidence to support that.
As for NM, sure we're all frustrated by the current delay, and we're all conscious of the implications, but all the parties involved have worked hard to get this far this fast, with the only significant delay before this one being the period earlier this year when WMDC tried to force the groundshare issue. We fought that then and believe that we were right to do so then and still believe it now. To have any future for professional RL in Wakefield, we need to keep fighting for NM and I only hope that enough of us will support this fight.
Management regimes come and go, so whatever you think of them (and I appreciate where the volume of support lies), we need to remember that Wakefield Trinity belongs ultimately to the City and the people of Wakefield. That has always been my motivation and in that one issue alone I think we have the one thing that still unites all on here - hopefully!

| its sad to see WTW in such a mess and sadder cos a lot of it is self inflicted by people at the club. If Richardson cant invest or attract new investors to the club what use is he. Using it as his own personal gravy train is shocking.
Kear wanted to leave and i cant believe he s still there tbh, the club is devoid of ideas from top to bottom. People cant live on past achievements, things have to improve and quick. I was told that investors are put off by richardson and while i wont get personal i can see why.Things ive heard from people inside wtw are amazing and respect has gone so time to have a clean sweep and start again. How thats done i dont know but its needed if the wildcats are to move on....the fans see it and the players see it, now its time for the BOD to see it

Now there is loyalty and then there is stupidity and that TRB has to be the most stupid comment ever. The responsibility for the situation we are in lays firmly at the door of the BOD not WMDC not the RFL not the banks and certainly not the FANS. The club has hoodwinked everyone for far too long and I am not talking the last ten year lets talk the last 40 years. And every Wakey fan knows it.

I think you might both be right. If we're talking long term (ie the last 20 years) then yes lay the blame at the feet of the club. If we're talking about the last few years then I think the club have tried everything possible to achieve the new ground (be it Thornes Park or Newmarket).

That is all well and good but that doesn't excuse the lack of action before that. We came into Super League mostly on the back of promises about the stadium. These were not delivered upon, apart from a block of flats a toilet block, an inflatable tunnel and an electronic scoreboard. I understand your defending of the club with the current NM affair, but lets be honest if it wasn't for the need to have a licence to compete in Super League it is doubtful that the NM plans would ever have been considered.
With the utmost respect to Widnes, Halifax and Barrow. They have been in worse positions than us but have done something about it.
The people of Wakefield do understand that but the club has to understand it has to be a two way street. You can't ignore the 'people of Wakefield' then feed them scraps and expect them to answer a 'Together We Are Stronger' rallying call.

you CAN blame the board, it hasnt altered the decline seen by other boards over 40 years. The board should use previous regimes to learn and improve, i dont think it has. Some things may well be out of their control but how they deal with it and relay to the fans is often poor.
On the playing side, the opinion from people i know at the club was that a lot of players were punching above their weights for 3-4 years, during that time the staff should bring the younger players on,blood them. WTW in my opinion has better young players than some theyre bringing in, they just need to be coached right. That lies with JK and ultimately the people employing him and his staff

i agree, thats my point, the board should not have coaching staff that cant coach.JK is a good general manager & motivator, when it comes to coaching and bringing on youth i think hes lacking.Hes almost like a director of football and thats not what wakey needs, it needs a solid team all playing from the same gameplan led by someone who can change games when needed using knowhow and tactics.

Remember the 'Block of Flats' and erection of said were included in the clubs initial administration meaning they didn't actually cost us owt to begin with. Mind we can always blame Pearman for that can't we !!
The 'toilet block' was a grant so that leaves the 'inflatable pussy' and a 'electronic scoreboard and timer' that has to be switched off with a couple of minutes to go because it's a bit out
