Very interesting that mate. Would love to know why he turned you down as he also chose to walk away from Cas. Was it money or lack of first team opportunities?

I think the rose tinted glasses on Finn are running out of tint. I'm missing one lens and the other has a big scratch on it.

Finn is done, it's time for him to go. He's been good for the club and would be great as a coach in the youth/academy/reserve set up but his effectiveness as a super league player is spent. The kicking sums it up best, he was kicking 15 yards for every penalty while Brough was kicking 50m. He kicks it straight to the man in play while Brough kicked into space. We need to run Miller and Hamshire together for the rest of the season and spell Ackroyd (if we still have him) every so often. We should also be looking at using Jowitt and Hooley more at FB. All we have left to play for is survival so we might as well get the young players blooded ready for the fight to come

Finn yet again pathetic. Brough taught us a lesson yesterday in game management and kicking.
Finn is out of shape cannot run defensively appalling his time is up. A big problem to the whole team at the moment defensively and attacking. He passes round the back all the time the defense know what is coming and kicking terrible how is he getting a game.

Finn is getting a lot of flak on here, but were the other pivots any better (and have they been recently?). Does one man now make a team?

I've got to say that yesterday really highlighted Finn as a weak link. I'm not sure how good an idea it is for him to be playing with an injury to his hand which requires surgery, both for Finn and the team. Personally I'd play Hampshire at 7 and Jowitt at full back for the foreseeable future and see if they can achieve some continuity. At the moment, it looks like Chester still doesn't know who his best 17 are. The season is getting on a bit now, we really need a settled team.

It can make a hell of a difference in a close game though.

I agree, but 18 points down to begin with don't help the cause and that wasn't Finn's fault (at least not all his fault).
I am not saying that Finn has been playing to his previous seasons form, or even his form earlier in the season, but there are other players that have been nowhere near their previous form. For example, there were 3 overseas players on Sunday that haven't been mentioned/criticised on here that were vitually non-existant during the game.

Regarding your overseas players, the player that has had least impact is Horo and young Crowther or Batchelor could certainly give us more.
Crowther was tackling everything that moved in the pre season games but cant get a spot on the bench, for a gold pig.

Be interested to know which overseas players you are referring to??

Fifita - Made his usual good meters and caused them problems
Pauli - Think arguably had his best game for us
Arona - I thought he ran it in well and tackled well although I dont think he has quite hit his form of last season.
Tupou - Didn't get enough ball but when he did looked a threat
Horo - I thought he tackled well and was one of the few towards the end who looked like making something happen
Miller - Didn't have his best game so would agree with you if he is one of them

Finn has been our best pound for pound signing but he's finished. He's lost even more speed this year.
Randell looks slow remember last year he was fantastic. Think they are on the Yorkshire pudding diet this year

rocky and Jowitt were in the team at HULL and LEEDS so yes there is better combinations we scored trys with overlaps moved the ball while moving forward .Miller,Randel and Wood looked to have more room to play .At cas in a bog called a field we scored a good try with a overlap which was not given by the V Ref .Think playing Finn is now like playing with 12 men

I agree about Finn but I'm still not convinced of MJ at the moment and fullback is as important as scrum half these days.
Grix gives us a lot of leadership on the field and that is being missed at the moment.

I'm not sure which I'd prefer Hampshire to play. I do like him at fullback while we desperately need the change at scrum half.
If we got someone like Matty Smith to the end of the season I'd put Rocky to fullback to give us speed and ball handling skills that are much needed.
If not then he has to play Jowitt and Hampshire plays scrum half.....unless we suddenly have another option for fullback but they are like gold dust at the moment unless we are raiding Ozzie second teams.........but if we are doing that I'd like the kid at Melbourne Brodie Croft if he wants a first team game.
