| From my position Ashurst was clear if he had received the pass but we won so this is now a mute subject. With regards Finn I though he missed quite a few tackles which I am sure one of you will be able to confirm.
I understand why PP was dropped and to some extent Johnson but I thought Hampshire’s performance against Leeds did not deserve him being dropped.

| According to the stats Scarlet, Finn missed 8 tackles...that’s one more than Hampshire missed last week...thought at the game Finn didn’t do too badly but when the likes of Barba are buzzing about it’s easy to rack up a few misses...thought Reece was terrific on the right edge, time after time he came up with brilliant defensive reads to snuff out danger...
Stats can be funny sometimes and maybe be misleading? Every Wakey fan in the ground must have thought Horo was outstanding and pushing Lyne/Tupou for mom, yet he only made 18 tackles and missed 5! Still thought he played well though...and as for Ashurst...well, the mans a machine pure and simple...48 tackles no misses...unreal effort against the best and most dangerous side going forward in the comp!

Based on Hampshire missing 7 only the week before and being dropped you’d expect him back in on that justification. Ashurst is almost the complete second rower. He’d be an ideal choice for the England set up.

| MC tweeted earlier that Bill T did 238m yesterday and his top metre maker in league. I have looked at the stats he is joint top meter maker with carney but has a better avg metres per carry

Much more relaxing watching the Trinity TV repeat.
One big hit by Lyne on Zeb Taia had Taia playing the old rubbing of the neck trick. Must've forgot it wasn't a televised game.
It was a shame that the early track back tackle by BJB on Richardson didn't prevent that early score.

The track back probably would have saved a try if the ref hadn't lost count of the tackles. It was the sixth but he neither called nor signalled. If he had done there is every chance Saints would have kicked rather than run the ball at that stage.

| Quote: upthecats "Cracking two points, thoroughly deserved! A great team effort with a couple of stand out performers!
Interesting that Saints have done a highlights video yet showed nothing that went their way? At the game I thought the Randell challenge and yellow card could have been a penalty try but definitely wasn’t as it was further out than I thought...don’t think there was any malice either just badly timed...Percival tried milking that penalty too, looked far less in it than I thought at the game...should have been a red card in fact for foul and abusive language towards an official...
The Miller one where he tackled the player without the ball was very marginal too and there was plenty of cover so again just a penalty correct...don’t know what Saints have to moan about? Saying that though we can moan about refs with the best of them!
Very deserved two points in my eyes, best team won no doubt about it!'"
I have always liked Saints and if I were to have a second team then they would be it and have always found their fans to be very amiable but on Sunday I couldn't believe how much whingeing and whining they were doing...they never stopped for the whole 80 minutes !!.
Our eldest daughter's boyfriend ( a Salford and Wakey fan) had some Saints friends at the game and went to stand with them on the Western terrace in the first half and when he came back for the second half, he said he couldn't believe how much whingeing the Saints fans were doing as it was totally unjustified

Couldn’t catch the game as I’m in Spain but I watched it back on the highlights... it’s obviously filmed just above the away fans and you can hear everything, this changed my opinion a little bit but then I thought; every club has negative fans I.e. BOJ042 haha

Oddly I felt even more tense watching it again even though I knew the result! It was weird tbh but I couldn't shake the feeling we were going to lose it in the last minute.

I felt exactly the same. At times it felt like the clock was going backwards.

| This was a great win and could set us up for a good run.
Saying that, it's a bit like breaking serve in a tennis match. The coaches always say that you haven't broken serve until you win your own on the next game.
We need to beat Salford to make sure we feel the benefit.

Tbf as a Wakefield fan who often stands in the North Stand I often think the same about our set of supporters.

| I thought I was in the old Leeds south stand with the number of shouts of forward pass, which sadly were from Wakefield supporters. I guess they worked on the principal that if you shout it for every pass you are going to be correct some of the time.
It does get a little tedious and not something I have come across so much in the east stand, because the majority of us are too old to see that far.
