| Quote: Shifty Cat "imo it's gradually crept in more as Football have got rid of the vast majority of hooliganism through banning orders, bigger prison sentences, better Police Surveillance and for some reason a few are choosing to take their thuggery into RL, which compared to Footbal is much less Policed and controlled. I also think the binge drinking culture in society as a whole as been at the route cause of many flash points in RL the past few years. Not that people haven't always liked to drink but there seems to be more people that want to get absolutely legless, instead of knowing their limitations and drink accordingly.'"
I feel safer going to the football have done for years

I have noticed we are probably one of the most regulated supporters, having plastic bottles confiscated at the gate etc. This is no longer the club I have supported for over 40 years and what next a plastic card which is designed to speed up entry but just in case can we arrive early.
In addition to the plastic card for me to gain entry to my seat in the stand i have to carry an additional paper card. I presume if this less than substantial document is destroyed or ruined I will not be able to enter the stand with the more durable plastic version.
We are RL supporters I wonder wether by trying to copy football with segregation we are now attracting that type of supporter'"
Not sure how these plastic cards' will work, when you enter the turnstile will the operator have a machine where you slide your card over it like in the supermarket, or will he have a chip and pin type machine? hopefully they might be fitted into the wall like at Headingley which are very quick and efficient, I'm not having a go here Scarlet because you have to respect other peoples reasonable opinions and there are a couple of things' that don't sit right with me down there, on the subject of segregation I don't have an opinion as there are arguments' for and against it, but if having a plastic card is the worst new practise we have to suffer then I for one am happy with that.

Is the plastic card just a better way (or maybe a cheaper option ?) than the old style book season tickets.
I presumed it was just quicker and less open to fraud ?
Cant see any issue with the change at all (unless, at some point, there is a problem with the scanning devices)
On the plus side, they are less bulky than the old booklet
Maybe, we are preparing for the future, when we may have some un manned turnstiles

Anything has got to be better than the old style book, poor perferation, not being allowed to pull the ticket out till you got into the turnstile once you've got into the right one, poorly maintained turnstile all contributing to a slow entry, unmanned turnstiles' would also save money which has to be a big plus for the club, any problem with the technology would be just a minor hiccup, we are after all Wakefield a club what thrive on teeny weeny hiccups'

I've always liked MC but he went up another notch on my admiration scale when he did this. It further shows his passion for the club. Its just about been fully covered on this thread but whatever were they thinking when they threw them? At least the vast majority of both sets of fans agreed on how stupid they've been. I was standing on the Wheldon road end and saw the smoke bombs on the pitch but didn't see them thrown. Just wondered if any one pointed out the culprits as I couldn't see any one and I haven't seen it mentioned. Great win and you certainly don't look like a team who will finish bottom.

| Might be a suspended fine depending on how well the incident is dealt with at the club. Can't accuse Carter of not dealing with the problem swiftly and forcefully. Looked understandably livid at the time.

| Will it depend on the ref's report or the match commissioner? MC's actions should surely go in your favour.

| I can't see how Wakey will get a fine it was down to Castleford to ensure the security of spectators. Just like at BV when there was trouble with the clubs it was Wakefield who were fined (suspended I believe) and no punishment for Cad as they were the visitors. Car should have a robust policy on entry but more importantly the resources to implement it. A lit of people have had a go at the club fif its policy on searching and seizing items well st least it can practice what it preaches given the number of messages about iton this forum

| So if the same culprits do it again when you visit Widnes do Widnes get the blame, and then go on and do it at Salford do Salford get the blame. I'm not saying you should be fined but they are your fans and you have to take some responsibility and it wants nipping in the bud.

Do football clubs get fined for away fans setting off smoke bombs
Did HKR & Wigan get fined for setting off smoke bombs
Did cas get fined for the scalding drink that HIT Mathers?
If Wakefield get fined for a blue and red smoke bomb at an unsegregated away ground where they have no say or control of stewards and crowd control does that mean when cas play at an unsegregated Belle Vue and a orange smoke bomb goes off will cas get fined?

| If a religious zealot adorned in Wakefield merchandise was to walk into Wheldon Road, amble into the Princess Street stand & detonate a bomb taking out numerous spectators, would it be WTRLFC’s fault?
Only asking…

It's your ground and your responsibility to police it, if your club refuses to ignore the fact that there has been trouble between both sets of fans' in the past, and due to the high demand for tickets' refuse to act in an appropriate manner by bringing extra stewards' in to dissolve any potential trouble, then you can only assume it was an irresponsible cost cutting exercise on behalf of your club and the blame lies firmly at your feet, unless of course you expected us to bring our own stewards'.

But it was the idiots who brought the smoke bombs into the ground. They were knowingly doing wrong but the stewards failed to stop them. Are you saying its morally ok for nutters to commit acts because its the stewards fault for not stopping them. Its got to the point where you're now sticking up for these idiots rather than condemning them.

I don't profess to be very intelligent but you've lost me with that post. Are you condoning the damage that these idiots have done to your clubs image.
Only asking.
