| Where is the money coming from for Mcdonnall? He will cost too much I'm sure and we only really have one decent centre in the entire squad and he's injury prone. Put Siejka at full back and get Wildie back to rest McShane after 60 mins if Mathers is off form.
We're in a real mess as a team which is made worse by a poor coach making crap team selections with players also sent out on loan that shouldn't be...Agar coughed on Radio Leeds that that was a mistake with hindsight!
I'd be interested in thoughts on Siejka and whether we shouldn't have pulled out of his signing anyway and tried to get a centre to back fill Lee Smith leaving? We are so weak in the backs it's shameful.
The difference between two coaches in Daryl Powell and Richard Agar is startling in terms of how they manage and develop their squads? The resulting difference on the field is also very telling.

So you criticise Agar for making crap team selections (which I agree with you on by the way) and then you want to play Siejka at Fullback???

| Mathers was so woeful in the CC game I wouldent of played him today either, he was more of a help to them then to us. The lads still got his heart at Leeds! As soon as Jowitt develops and plays the better!

Think Mathers has deserved some of the stick he has got this year but to ask for him to be replaced when he wasn't even playing tonight.
Even I think that's a bit below the belt.

He doesn't have to play tonight for me to give a opinion on the majority of his performances this season.

| Homegrown player, bags of potential, lost due to a change in the system and a lack of vision.
Is he at Dewsbury now after his trip overseas?
Either way he's not overseas.

I know what you are saying, it just seems baffling the timing of his omission from the team.
Had two wins and a close one against Saints, so he gets dropped for HKR?
Our captain is struggling for form and fitness, so our VC gets dropped, hardly inspiring the team.
Unless our coach has an ace up his sleeve?

I've thought that myself, the worse Shudds seem to play the more Smurf comes to the fore.

I didn't understand the HKR one especially after London however I dont know if Mathers had bod on thus his performance against Leeds in the CC but I dont think he has ever played well again them. He gives up way to easily. Sometimes you watch him mess up and hes quick to blame other players around him.

| I'm struggling how to put this without being shot down but we did have it at Cas with Richie. Look how many clubs he has had and he must be getting near to his longest spell any where now with the Trin. He looked good at Cas because at first every body was conned by his actions and it looks from the verbals that he is doing a lot of organising at the back. He wasn't and i know a certain young cas player who did a brilliant impersonation of him behind his back to the rest of the squad. He certainly knows how to pass the blame. Sorry again if it sounds like a Cas v Wakey post

| If the coach is going to keep dropping Mathers, maybe it's time to hand over the VC armband to someone who will put their body on the line and be picked every week?
Also maybe DK would benefit from being relieved of the captaincy so he can concentrate on getting fit without the burden of feeling that he has to play as captain, when he is all mashed up?

| He has been a good player (Leeds Warrington).
But......he is not a young man anymore. His mobility across the back has been very poor. I have watched him quite closely because it was obvious he wasn't doing his job 100%
He reacts very slowly to the kick and leaves it for the wingers to collect. While other players are moving towards the ball he is still thinking shall I shan't I. And he looks far too musclebound - it almost seems to restrict his agility - maybe I am looking to closely!
Some of the other Super League full backs - who I assume are a lot younger - are throwing their bodies all over the place and are far more dynamic.
I don't slag the players cos I think players always try to do their best - even if it isn't their best. However, Mathers I suspect and hope is at the end of his career with us at Wakefield. Maybe a new start somewhere else might create a bit of a spark for him.
