You are going to enjoy it when Widnes visit you then!

| So to sum up the KC response on here - just to be clear ; we're awful, the worst team seen at the Kc for some time and they've come on the wakefield board to crow following a massive 4 point win over us, at their home ground, in a game that saw two tries each, against a Wakefield side boasting exactly 1 player from the same team last year, 4 games into the season.

I think that Hull will be a solid team this season but nothing more. I dont think there is a huge amount of pace in that team. I did not go today but i have watched fc this season and Hull are in the same bracket as us Cas, Kr, Bradford and Salford.

I reckon most sane minded FC fans will agree that this year they won't break any pots, it'll take them time to adjust to Gentle and bring in players he wants, its just a few who think it'll change overnight.
I wish FC well but have got tired of some of the bitter ones who won't look forward to a brighter future and insist on reminding us that its all Agars fault.

We are re-building and I agree that we lack pace (Heremaia is yet to play though, and he will add some pace)
I also agree that we are in the 'middle pack' of teams that could finish 6th-10th. For most fans this season will be considered a success if we finish top8 again, but actually compete in the playoffs (our last two appearances were completely limp and lifeless) we can then hope to build and get back in to the top4 again in the next few years.

We seem to have more fans than most teams that treat every victory as a sign that we are heading straight to Old Trafford, and every defeat as a terrible disaster that must lead to P45's for all coaching staff and players. The rivalry with Rovers can also be blinding, some fans would celebrate finishing 13th if Rovers were the side at the bottom.
the sane amongst us know it will take time to re-build the side and also that SL is more competitive than ever, and aside from Widnes every team seems competitive this season.

Agree totally with what you say. Heremaia will add an definate spark to FC. Hull will be a big and solid team just missing a bit of cutting egde out wide.

I heard one on the radio on the way back, seemed to think Hull would be riding high and should have signed some more players.
Nowt wrong with wanting whats best for the club but surely they realise it won't happen straight away.

| I didn't go today, so cannot comment on the game but it seems to me that from a coaches point of view, I would be more concerned if I was the coach of big spending Hull FC.
Everone with an ounce of rugby brain knows that WTW are still finding their feet as a team but despite three losses there are positives signs. (Certainly seen in the two home games I have seen -both of which we should have won!)
If, according to some Hull supporters on here, we were so bad, how come the mighty Hull only score two tries against us?
I am quite prepared to wait for the wins, which I feel will come.
That goalkicking issue however remains a worry.

We've made 8 new signings, so I am baffled as to why someone would think we needed even more!

May have been more to do with the quallity of them, not signing world class players and getting Aspinwall instead.

people don't seem to understand that SL isn't as attractive to the Aussie's and Kiwi's as it was a few years ago, the poor exchange rate and tightening up of tax loopholes means it isn't as good a payday.
There have been very few big name signings from the NRL this year, Hohaia and Waterhouse are the only two I would consider household names.
I don't think Agar and Gentle did a bad job with the signings they made for us (Hull fan in Agar compliment shocker!)

| That was a pretty dour affair, particularly in the first half, which was significantly less entertaining than watching the mighty Sandal Spartans U13's beat Lindley Swifts yesterday morning.
The second half livened up a bit, particularly in the last 20; for mine, Ganson saved Hull from us nicking it at the end - what the bleeding hell he was up to when Moa went hunting again was a total mystery; on report but no penalty, and a lovely gesture to make a player leaving the field with a head injury come back on to play the ball - bonkers. There's some improvement in us and in decent conditions, I think our pace and fitness will see us get some good wins.
As for Hull FC and their 'big club, top 4' mentality - I just don't see it; they were dull, cynical and like us, lacked the ability to finish. Gentle out.

I don't think Moa went headhunting from where I was sat (south stand) your player Southern? went into a tackle then young Ellis hit him hard and he fell to the ground quickly with Moa in the middle of attempting a big shot expecting Ellis to hold the player up and as the player went down Moa tried to hurdle over the player and caught him by accident with his trailing leg. It was put on report because Ganson or his touch judges didn't seem to see what had happened (no change there then).
I certainly don't see us in the top 4 this season and neither do most of our fans, the conditions killed any chance of an open expansive game and lead to mostly barging down the middle. Our execution was very poor but Wakey defended well. Good luck for the rest of the season (apart from the return game at your place )

| Two things that give me belief that this side is going in the right direction, firstly is that Agar's got the side very fit, fitter than I've seen a Wakey side in years, a side where they seem to get stronger in the last 20 minutes, which is really encouraging. Secondly, he's got the defensive patterns well drilled and that makes us harder to breakdown and beat, he's basically laid good foundations with which to develop.
The attacking side of things will get better as the season goes on, when the players become more confident and used to each others style of play. We've seen the attack in glimpses so far this season and you can tell when it clicks, especially when the ground hardens up, it will be pretty good but Agar has still got to sort out who the strongest side is and where to make best use of all the players.
