Quote miamivice="miamivice"i have for a long time not wanted to get into this debate over who is going to build first etc etc.
however, like IA i also work in the building trade and i am party to some information that may be not in the public domain.
cas are planning to start building work on their ground in january 2012 with a 12 month build timescale, so if all goes to plan, ready for the 2013 season.
how do i know this? my company subscribe to "project leads" company called glenigans (anyone who works in the building industry will be aware of this). the information about cas, who the developers/builder are and when it is due to start was on there. this information is subject to change, but it will not be brought forward, only backwards.
for this information to appear on glenigans, someone from either the builder/developer/owner has stated this
i know this adds nothing to either argument in terms of who will build first, but it is statement of fact. if any cas fans thinks they will be in a new stadium by the start of next season, please contact me and we can have a bet!!!
btw - IA knows what he talking about, and despite been a *&^%$ (i cannot bring myself to type the name) fan, i do have faith and confidence in what he is saying.'"

I never even thought to look! We use Barbour ABI (for other posters, this is the main rival service to Glenigans) and just checked on there and they have the start down as third quarter 2011 and this was updated on 27th Jan. Their next 'research call' is down for 14th April... probably because Waystone told them last time the called that they were expecting a planning decision by then.
This information is gathered by the companies (ABI/Glenigan) speaking directly to the developer/main contractor involved. They tend to give the correct information, as they understand at that time, because otherwise subbies and suppliers start to chase them before they are ready.
As you state this information does come directly from the developer and my experience is the same as yours... these dates rarely come back, they only tend to go forward. It can only be taken at face value of course but if someone at Waystone has told them that, that is what they are thinking at that time.
Loving the fact that you can't bring yourself to type the 'R' word BTW... this is what rivalry and banter should be about on here and not what it seems to have become due to the RFL generated franchise issues!
