| Quote: Speedy "Not saying that this would happen or will for a moment, so dont jump down my throat.. lets say you went into administration and up popped your interested parties and bought the club then for meager amounts, The RFL couldnt kick you out as the president has been set by them, ala crusaders, Suerly this would be the preffered option AFTER all other avenues have been exhausted wouldnt it ?'"
TBH I believe that administration is the only way the club can progress from here - a fresh start is needed as there is too much baggage attached to the current regime and as has been said numerous times already the likelihood of getting the funds required are virtually nil, particularly in the tight time frame. I feel sorry for the players and certain club employees whose livelihoods are on the line due to the incompetence of the BOD.

| Whatever happens from here on in, whether the money is raised or not (and I would suggest not), the current BOD should go anyway. If they are true supporters as has been said, they should walk away anyway, cos their shares are worth nowt and their failings are there for all to see.

Must admit as an outsider reading that statement I thought exactly that and was quite shocked by it! Basically read.... 'if you really love your club you'll cough up 1k, full stop!' very poor IMO May work at first on fans but it's not as if we all don't put plenty into our clubs over the years!

| Quote: TRB "It is for the re-capitalisation of the club. £500k would securen the future of the club and, in fairness, they are giving the club away for that money.
The details of exactly what the position is would only become fully known to those who sign confidentiality agreements and continue the due diligence process - which takes a long time!'"
In August i emailed the Club with ideas of ways to generate income AND NEVER RECIEVED A REPLY, one idea was an fans investment scheme (long term) in which Fans invest money in the club with a 5 year season pass for a £500-600 investment making a season pass £100-£120, how many fans would have invested in August ? In August Newmarket was full steam ahead my idea was tossed aside because we were so confident on planning permission, So here we are in Jan with begging bowl in hand for £1000 with a chance to get 1st pick of your seat at Newmarket... WOW, what happens to your £1000 if 500 people do not invest ? do you get it back ? what happens if Newmarket does not go ahead ? what happens if the Club goes under (god forbid) ? is your £1000 gone ?. TBH altough it breaks my heart to see the Club in such a predicament it does not suprise me !!, do we have 500 fans with a spare grand each with the current economic times and just after the most expensive time of year ? i applaud any fan willing to put their hand in their pocket i certianly can't afford it, let's hope we have 500 people with a spare grand to throw away....
I would like to ask TRB, IA and the other members of the fans groups, are you investing £1000 or more into the club, and what guarantees are there to the fans that do?

| Quote: The Clan "I can't speak about why the club didn't respond, maybe they couldn't, maybe they were preoccupied whatever, FWIW I think they should have!
As for the rest, if you read the various threads all your concerns are answered in the positive. In short though, the money will be paid into an ESCROW Acct where it is safe, it cannot be accessed by anyone from the club under any conditions no matter how extreme, if we fail to raise the money then it will be repaid in full if thats what the investor wants, if we are successful then the BoD will resign en masse, relinquish their shareholding and have no more to do with the club. The new shareholders will then decide how best to use the money and move forward.'"
I hope 500 people "turn up grand in hand" but with the rise in VAT, fuel price hike's, Job security and people still not paid their Dec's credit card bill, will the hard working, honest people have a spare £1000 ?, why not introduce this idea when the decision on NM was to be taken to Central Goverment ? the fan's are been emotionaly blackmailed into securing the club after years and years of bad managment by the current BOD. im sure £500k will keep the club afloat for so long what happens if no new investers came along ? how long can you flog a dead horse ? Are the Club going to ask the fans to did deep again ?

I can see your point, but the chances of this figure being reached by existing shareholders alone is I feel remote.
This meeting was planned well before Xmas, plenty of time for the bod to get together, anticipate the questions they would be asked, produce all the facts, and then be ready to roll out en mass to the rest of us.
With the lack of trust that many of fans/potential investors, have in the bod, it looks like an attempt to muddy the waters and just hope people feel shamed into dipping into their savings.
I can see no other outcome, if the situation is as bleak as we all fear, than administration, because the bod have either not acted quickly enough or supplied enough facts to convince the people.
Another cock up in short.
Do I think administration is a good thing? No
Do I think it could be our best bet? Yes

Sorry to disappoint - but it's got nothing to do with anything Wakefield did, or didn't, do!
