I'm sure I'll be chased off here again by Rebel rebel with his pitchfork and torch bearing mates icon_biggrin.gif

A proffessional sports club is a strange entity, it is owned by its customers ( you lot ) without you there is no club, without you there is no reason to have a club , ultimatly it is down to you where that club plays , it seems that you now have a plan, all you can do is support that plan, that you have people willing to put personal property up as collateral to ensure your short term survival should be applauded, they deserve your support

All the best

Quote: Agent XIII "So in a nutshell it's the supporters responsibility and the club has nowhere else to go. We will I am sure be told that when our best players are sold we did not spend enough or were not willing to join some gambling site. I see the similarities with Salford this season they tried to compete with an under strength squad and we know where they finished.
I admire them for putting their homes as collateral however, on the reverse this also means that the club must continue to trade regardless. The standard of rugby on show or the division we are in will not be the defining factor but that we continue to trade. I have supported the club through various disasters but this one I fear the most because the performance on the field is no longer the number one priority.'"

That's a twist on what the situation is.

All that's being said is that if we sell the 3,000 season tickets we can pay for what we have. If we sell less we can't, if we sell more we can spend more.

We HAVE to take some responsibility here. We ARE the only thing this club has got - in the absence of a Sugar-Daddy.

So yes, you are right - if WE don't buy the season tickets, sign up for Foxy Bingo and take out 1873 club membership then WE can only have ourselves to blame. But, to reverse spin this (which I think some were alluding to last night), if WE get behind our club, buy our season tickets, sign up for Foxy Bingo and take up 1873 membership, we CAN and will have a half decent side and give ourselves that chance to compete and survive in SL next season!

Many players and coaches have come and gone, but this club is tenacious and it will always come out fighting when backed into a corner. WE AINT DEAD YET! k020.gif

Could not make the meeting, did anyone ask what was being done to get the unrenewed ST holders signed up?

Surely we have all relevant contact details, the club should be on the phone to each and every one of them to see if they intend to renew, or has this already happened ?

No staff to call them up. But that would be a job for volunteers if any were to come forward

Not posted on here for a long time but have watched the board with interest. Thanks for all the info regarding last nights meetings however I do understand that this is a forum and everyone is entitled to their opinion, however why post negativity. It does the club and the cause of saving OUR team no good at all. Get behind the club and do whatever you can to support it. I paid for my ST as soon as they came out and have tried to get mates to do the same. If you know people that have not renewed get into them and try and get them to do it. Lets support the club in anyway we can.

I know that some might think i am talking total nonesense but from what i have read about your current situation i think there are real positives that came out of the meeting.
Your debt situation, although its a lot of money it seems the vast majority of it is owed to directors who will not be recalling the money.Seems you dont owe HMRC anything which is a huge plus. There are no court orders or imminent threats of administration.Given that, it makes this a totally manageable situation and you seem now to have the right guys in place who will control the finances.
You have one of the best fan bases in SL with excellent crowd averages so if you can retain even 75% of them for next season you will be more than competetive.
There is always the possibility that a new major investor is just around the corner so never give up on that materialising.
The 2 new guys in charge just amaze me.Its one thing to be a multi millionaire and be able to throw money at the club with no impact on your long term financial security but these 2 guys have used their family homes as security. Some experts would call that crazy but i think its an amazing act of loyalty to a club that they must obviously care a great deal for. That type of loyalty needs rewarding with the backing of as many fans as possible.
The fans cannot keep looking back at what has happened. Its now all about the future.I know that is not easy but it is the reality you are now in.

I genuinely wish you the best of fortune for the coming season and for Gods sake dont let those 2 incredible loyal guys lose their homes.

Out of interest, how long is it until the RFL loan, that the directors have put their houses up as security for, has to be repayed? Is it over the course of the next 12 months?

Problem with that is, which Food Supplier will be happy to trade with us with that financial burden of been a "bad payer". I would imagine 3663's credit control team would be having nightmares about chasing us up for payment and at the moment we would be lucky to get a box of Kit Kats on credit from Patel's Cash N Carry.

Another really helpful negative post, thanks.

I'm sure the club have already sorted something out otherwise why announce that you're going to do this.

Come on folks, let's have some POSITIVITY for a change.

Sorry i can not see the problem now, these guys have set it all up, told us all we need to know and what needs to be done most of which we did last season anyway buying season tickets etc. They are not asking for anymore than we were happy to pay last year. Lets get them 4000 tickets bought now (got mine soon as they were released when we did not know what was happening.)
COME ON GET YOUR £200 SENT.

Please......

Theres positivity / negativity and been generally realistic.

Shall I say "Oh we are brilliant, and Coca Cola will supply us with 1 million bottles of coke on the tic because weve got some new guys in charge and we are changing the way we work ?" Wouldnt be further than the truth to be honest in the real world.
