Quote t-r-i-n-i-t-y="t-r-i-n-i-t-y"I'll tell you why the 'We all hate XYZ' chants should be left to rest - we, in the last six months, have lost two members of our playing squad, and in the last year had a number of players who are part of the foundations of this club. Let's have a bit of respect for the players who take to the field for all teams and support our own lads rather than denigrate others.
I don't like Bradford, there are other teams I'm not particularly fond of, but I love my club and I support my club. They aren't perfect, they do things which annoy me, but jeez, I am a Wakefield Trinity Wildcats supporter, and rather than use phrases like 'never has beens' like I have in the past, I' going to be as positive as I can be about those men that take to the field with my hopes and dreams on their backs.
You go back and look at the posts on the threads about Walker and Watene and see supporters from all clubs on there offering support and condolence - and then sing 'We all hate XYZ'
I'm really annoyed about all this, probably too much, but I don't want to see the goodwill and good name our club has do to waste cos a few idiots can't hold a drink and enjoy the game without swearing, goading and generally being offensive.
If a steward tells you to sit down, you sit down. If they tell you to stop swearing, you stop swearing. If they tell you to keep your shirt on, you keep your shirt on. You don't listen to them - tough.
If you genuinely believe you shouldn't have been kicked out of the stadium - write to the SMC, to both clubs and explain why. Don't try to justify yourselves on here, sort it with those who have 'wronged' you.'"
An excellent post as others have said.
I go to the games to support my team - if I am abusing the other teams fans then that means I am not supporting my team so I won't waste my energy doing that.
The people being abusive are an embarrassment to the club - it may be meant in fun but it is not seen that way. These same people could be an example of what a great club we can be if they channelled their efforts for the good of the club. Only they can choose if they want to be respected or be a stain on the clubs support.
