| The reason you are good on the field is down to who you signed ,Think we're we are in the league says a lot about the signings

My point was that we have some players burning a hole on our rooster which doesn't represent value for money. So realistically could you put that money into off field staff? All said with hindsight and I'm not criticising MC.'"
Always difficult with players who were once good but then were on the slide. Some carry on trying their best and want a successful final hurrah. We've had a number of those. Others see it as a step-down so they wind down everything, in terms of commitment and effort.
Lineham once upon a time was a good winger. He could have been a useful big-bashing winger, in a Ryan Hall kind of way, but we don't know how they are going to fare until they arrive. It turned out it was a waste of time, but we've maybe got it right more often than wrong.
Gaskell, for me, is a decent stand-off, with decent distribution and an eye for a gap and an opportunity. If Miller is keeping him out of the team, that should be the end of it. Playing him out of position is disastrous. He has no pace left and I can't still can't fathom when he was full back at Salford in place of Jowitt, because it was one of the worst full back performances I have seen. That isn't about recruitment. That is about selection.

Don't get me wrong I know Carter's hands are tied and he does his best. But subtle things could well help. Sometimes getting help in areas where you need help is an absolute god send. It then allows you to do the things you are good at.'"

What I'm trying to work out in my own head is if we're good off the field, but terrible on it.'"
Apples and pears I think, you have to be good in business to survive, where as in sport it's more of a gamble backed up by business, I'd just make my own mind up and stick to it, it's your money you make the choice, it might just be somebody else's opinion that's wrong, not yours

The figure will be at least £150K (both will be on no less than £75K each, the going rate for players like these 2 are between £65 and 100k so yes anything from £150k to £200k will be what rets spent on these 2 players a season

| Quote: chissitt "It's difficult to argue with your logic here, massive problems with the fans split on whom to blame wish I had the answers like you appear to have, what I can't get my head round is your sudden concern for the plight of our club when for years you've shown nothing but open contempt for our club not forgetting the ridicule shown by you when Mr Davey not for the first time reached for the cheque book to take advantage of our financial plight by offering our players the moon on a stick, anyway enough said go get the kids off to school and get the housework done, and thank you for the input btw
Took advantage? Or helped you out?
Did you need the money or not? Were the players up for sale or not- because as I understand it a club that holds a players registration doesn’t have to give it up…… if Davy hadn’t opened his cheque book someone else may have- or perhaps no one would have- which would have been the better option?
Ken Davy has said he has a particularly good relationship with Wakefield and hull KR, (he has never got on with FC due to personal differences with Pearson over the football shares).

| Whatever they are 'earning,' I reckon Lineham & Gaskell will be on far more than say Hall & Whitbread who have been the best 2 signings we have made. Will Gaskell now be brought back in at full-back for the easy beats that are St Helens?!!!

I'm told that everything and everyone has it's price, and I'm sure Mr Davey is the essence of a perfect gentleman, my post was not about the individual himself or his ability to buy players on the advice of the coaching staff even you have to admit they've had their fair share, but just simply in the context of my post regarding your sudden urge to highlight our apparent failings and I'm just questioning your reasons for the personal concern from somebody like yourself who has been as brutal as you have in being critical of our club.

I'm afraid Gaskell was a huge mistake for you as i commented when he signed from us, totally rinsed us for 2 years, then played well in last year or so for a final contract, real mercenary and a sign that your management hadn't done their homework, we had been trying to offland gaskell for a long time before you finally came in for him

I don’t like the club no, and I’m afraid it’s either you or salford I would prefer to see going down and I just can’t see it being salford. I do however have a fascination for how the fans on here have behaved over the last few months it’s been particularly interesting watching the ups and downs on this forum and how things have changed since the start of the season- apart from Pop tart with the eternal optimism and reluctance to admit when things were going wrong, and downright refusal to admit mistakes that have been made by those in charge.
Vastmans hypocrisy of the highest order, telling people off for giving the criticisms he himself later gives and the meltdowns have been particularly funny.
But there are some genuine fans who support Wakefield who I feel sorry for because we have been where you are now and it’s not pleasant. For many years there was a couple who had ST in front of us who would bring their adult lad who would wear his Wakefield shirt to the giants games every week. I also have a friend who’s son is in the academy at Wakefield (he grits his teeth to put on the shirt- and it rankles he can’t wear his giants colours anymore) and that’s obviously a worry for him- but he’s a very bright lad - A* student - and will have other options.
The genuine fans will continue for the most part. The hurt wears off, you enjoy the rugby again and the championship is not a horrible place-apart from Fev the fans are decent, the food tends to be better and the beers cheaper!

Ahh there we see it.
Must be a sad life when you get your kicks coming on a forum you care nothing about, just to tell people you don't like their club.
Support your own team if you can. Leave us to support ours however we see fit.
