We could have had any Ref today and the result would be the same no fight no heart. We never got into the KR players faces and just stood and watched them and then when we had the ball never drove it in with enough effort.Agar baffles me at times and I cant understand why (his words) experiment. The only experiment I would have made and that's to rest Kirmond the lad looked out on his feet and needs a rest before the long term effect is his playing days are over.I would ask a question that a lady sat behind us asked "after playing like we did against Saints where does a performance like that come from" yes saints were down on strength but they were even more under strength when they beat Leeds.

Captain struggling, VC dropped, not good for leadership or structure.

Quote: bren2k "That's great - so once again, the team that you play next will reap the benefit.

Refereeing this season is as bad as I can remember it in the SL era; neither side were square at the ptb all afternoon and the 10 metres was very much a moveable feast.

Very poor indeed.'"

Thats very much what the radio humberside commentators were saying. Half a dozen players standing 3 metres offside at the PTB with no action taken and then one player borderline offside at the PTB and he's penalised.

Quote: TRB "At the fans forum on Wednesday the players were saying how they were looking up and not down and how they felt that the top 8 was their target. There is part of the problem - they haven't yet figured out that the games they need to turn up for are those against the likes of Bradford and HKR. It's no use losing gallantly to Saints, they are not our competition, if we have no energy for today.

HKR were pumped, industrious and determined. They gave us a lesson in teamwork and effort and won almost every single ruck in both attack and defence. We are relegation material based on that showing.

So what now? Leeds in the cup is now just a distraction we don't need. Leeds away in the League is a no hoper, then it's Cas at home. What we do between now and then should have everything to do with that game and if anything comes inbetween it should be considered a bonus.

Bad day!

Bad day indeed but that dosn't make you a bad team as the saints game illustrates. Did the home support have any influence on the saints performance, in my experience it did. Some times it would only take a 5% drop in performance across the team for such a contrast in performance. Did they just take their foot off the gas that little bit and HKR step it up a bit? i'm a bit puzzled by the way you contradict yourself when you say you're not in the same competition as saints but seem to imply you should target cas as a win. Cas are 2 points behind saints and above leeds, they play saints next at home and its not unthinkable that the way things are going cas could beat saints and based on your argument you will be targeting a win against a team who have won 7 out of 8 and are joint top. Things could go completely the other way and you could win both games against leeds and we could lose to batley and saints. It just seems that cas arn't getting the credit they deserve at the moment. No offence intended, just my thoughts on both clubs at present.

That wasn't a 5% drop in performance it was more like a 50% drop. Cas are a side that work hard for each other and work as a unit and are getting the rewards of that.

This doesn't feel any better the morning after.
Yesterdays result has a similar feel to JK's last season here, when we got pumped regularly with a squad of kids.
To have 50 points put on us, by a bottom half SL club is mickey poor.

Disappointed doesn't cover it and we have Leeds next up !

That we can agree on, but it's the same for everyone, an example being Poore committing an offence against Bradford last week meant you guys "benefitted" from his absence yesterday.

The refs are garbage full stop and they are the biggest threat to the sport (along with the disciplinary panel/system).

Probably not the best example - most Wakey fans rather hoped he'd be playing; he's a bit of a liability isn't he?

In general terms though, you're right, and it strikes me that disciplinary decisions are very much influenced by the club you represent; the precedent was set when Bowen got away scott-free with a blatant, off the ball, old fashioned clothes line, simply because Wigan were playing in the WCC the next week. From then on, every decision is weighed against that one and automatically feels unfair.

The standard of officiating in RL is at an all-time low.

I've never understood the statement that you should be beating the team's around because surly that means where ever your are in the table there the ones you should beat , we should be trying to undo every single team we face and for Mr agar to come out and say we've experimenting with players is very il conceived or very arrogant, as for a marathon well we need points now banked because it's all going to get s lot harder as the winless weeks flyby these are fully paid professional sports men not some thrown together after works club ,making statements like we should be targeting cas is plain stupid ! We should be aiming to beat them all , at present cas have set a real standard and should be applauded for the way they have gone about there buisness

We should see If we can borrow Ryan Hampshire from Wigan as he is not getting in their squad at moment. Think he's a cracking player who would add loads to our attack from full back and certainly be no worse defensively then any of our current full back options.

Plus he's a wakey lad.

"The teams around us" will soon be only London!
Two years running we've given Hull KR a lift and revitalised their season. Sandercock must love us as we've probably kept him in work over here!

Yeah couldn't blame him either as his development would probably go backwards
