| If anyone thinks they should have a say in running the club there are ways and means of doing that - apply for a position or buy your way into the board. Unlike Govt, business is not a democracy.

Indeed (although you have to wonder whether government is a democracy too, but that's another matter).
To take up a point that was mentioned earlier: Joining the supporters' trust and bringing the membership up from a poxy 200 to 2,000 might be one way of having a little more influence on what goes on at the club. That said, it does cost a massive 2 pints a year, so you need to consider carefully how you spend your money.

Correct.
Whist the Club does speak with the Trust and hopefully listens on occasion the issue we have is that with only 200 members out of a fan base of at least 6,000 or a little over 3% is the Trust truly representative of Wakefield supporters.
With 2,000 or better still 3,000 members the Trust would have to be listened to and maybe have the financial clout to have a say, albeit a small say in how the club is run. However I suspect that membership will remain in the low hundreds and the Trust will remain as un-influential as it is now.

Can't have that I'm afraid. By hook or by crook, maybe not in Super League, there'd still have been a Wakefield Trinity. Glover is merely the current custodian.

If its not Superleague, you might as well pack up pal. Don't kid yourself otherwise.

I remember rolling up in 1974 when the club ead probably run equally as bad or well as it is now but all we cared about was how well Topliss, Morgan, Skerret, Smith, Sheard, Crook, Ballantyne, Handscombe, Hudson etc would play and the result. The Board were names in the programme and nothing else to the supporters. Get over yourselves and start supporting the team or sod off. That is your place so stop thinking you have any other part to play and leave Glover alone. Without him there would not be a club at all!'"
I do support the team my comments on this thread were about how the club is run and whether you like it or not if we want to attract and keep new supporters, the way the club is run will impact on our ability to do that.
Apologies, I didn't realise you had a choice don't have an opinion of how the club is run (unless its praising them) or sod off?
Whilst I am grateful AG stepped in and bought the club and has put his own money in, you need to remember that when he took over we had a clean slate, so who do you think is responsible for the fact were in the do do again?
AG and JE between them have responsibility for balancing the books and don't appear to be doing it, so
if the club were to go under again would they not be accountable or is that only the case for the richardsons?

It's not like he is planning it this way (assuming any of the posts on here are actually factually correct. He is clearly trying to make a business model that doesn't work very well, work better. It isn't going to be an over night change.
So responsibility stays with him yes, but if it didn't we'd be in deep poo as there is no one else to take that responsibility.
In terms of who has the resoponsibility to make the problem go away....the fans have a big say in that. If the crowds were higher and we bought more stuff, there wouldn't be a cash flow issue. It's tough times for both him and us financially so I'd suggest that although you have a right to moan about the way the club is being run, you are not helping in any way, and that is why you are getting some kick back on here.
At the end of the day, as said above he is responsible and because of that, he can run it how he likes.

The club set pricing for tickets and merchandise and agree staff and player wages and deals with suppliers, so surely they have control to a certain extent?
Our crowd numbers are at a decent level, so they shouldn't really have budgeted for much more than what were getting either.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion but for me however it is dressed up, the facts are the business acumen side (other than selling) seems to be lacking, which was one area where I thought AG would provide benefits

I do take your point Tricky.
I really don't know anything so it is hard for me to have an opinion. I just think they are on to a loser and are doing their best and will hopefully get better.

| Many moons ago I defended Ted by saying that Trinity in it's current set up was un -viable as a SL club and that AG did not have the money to change that. I said Ted wasn't a crook or incompetent and did his best for FIFTEEN years before being overwhelmed.
I was lambasted on here as Ted's and even from the more reasoned posters was mocked on occasion. All because people chose to believe what suits them at the time and don't look deeper or listen to what they don't like.
I wasn't pro Ted or anti AG and still aren't. In fact I feel AG has been extra unlucky to take over the club at a time when the financial conditions in both RL and the country are as harsh as I can remember.
Fact - unless a massive investor takes us on or we move to N/M we will struggle to stay afloat - we are not alone - but unlike other we are habitual offenders and will be in big trouble if it happens again.
Judging by the comments above it's getting closer than is comfortable - fingers crossed N/M gives us he boost we need.

Marketing opportunity here - how do I join, where do I send my money?

Agreed. And even if we do move to NM unless punters come in numbers very little will change. Here's hoping.

I guess that being up close and personal with the businesses that will take up residence in the units may also create some new partnership/sponsorship opportunities.
NM really would increase the visibility of the club across all sections of the WMD public and business communities and whilst it will still need some marketing and PR expertise to exploit that, the opportunity is huge.
