Don't think so, Bailey is an arch niggler and Poore came out of the blocks like a bull in a china shop. To me it looks like Bailey has taken advantage of this and Poore has paid the price.
Having said that, still worth it to see Bailey get a clout, been a long time coming.

Just what me and my old man were saying. His card is well an truly marked, both at red hall and on the field. A certain Jamie Peacock has been talking up 'revenge' on twitter and I'm sure he's not the only person that'll be considering poking Poore in the ribs to get a reaction.
Further more, he now has 'form' and Ive no doubt he'll be up before the beak on numerous occasions and will pick up bans for seemingly not a lot....
I'll bet that within the first 6 weeks of the new season JP will pick up at least a 2 game ban, and if he makes a mess of someones face, like he did to Bailey, he'll get a 3 game stint.

| I think some people are giving Bailey far more credit than is due. Im not sure he is clever enough to have that kind of strategy. Im thinking more bully who just happened to get banjo'ed!
* Can i just point our that over the last 18 months, Bailey has completely altered my opinion on him as a player, especially the 2nd half of last season where Jamie Peacock aside, i think he was probably Leeds best forward.
As for Poore, i think again people are reading too much into it. Yes, he has set his stall out, but if people come looking for him then surely he has done to them what everyone is claiming Bailey has done to him?? Distracting from there game?? Im sure he is big enough, ugly enough and proffesional enough to be able to cope withough getting into bother.

Oh yes you have. It's a nonsense theory - basically Bailey can punch who he wants with impunity but anyone who digs him back has been played by this genius - give it a rest. It's almost as daft as Brian McD suggesting that you can't go around punching folk without once noting that Bailey does that every game.
It's a mans game, and Poore thank god looks like the kind of man who won't be pushed around. I certainly don't want to watch a game a cowardly as the one you seem to be pushing.

| One punch seems to have caused quite a stir.
I'm pretty certain most opposition forwards will be more worried about stopping him playing than having a dig. If they are trying to wind him up they are not tackling him properly and he'll slip the ball.
Bring it on I say. He's exactly what we need.

| Personally, I'm happy enough for Justin to retaliate if he has been provoked, what I wouldn't like to see is him instigating any incident (which I don't think he did in this case). I think an inexperienced ref either didn't notice the provocation, or just over-reacted to seeing Bailey bleeding. If Justin had also had a cut then you can imagine Bailey's card would have been red also, even if the ref didn't see how it happened.
Justin seems to me to be a no-nonsense kind of guy and that's what we need. Don't start the fight but if provoked make damn sure you finish it, that's what I say!!

| think we are all making a bit of a mountain out of a molehill. He has played one game, got revved up and had a bit of biff to which the ref probably overreacted.
He played several seasons in the NRL and i don't think he was being sent off every other week there so i wouldn't make too much of it

Eh?
No one has suggested that Bailey can go around punching people at his leisure and expect no action against him. What I was highlighting was that in my opinion Bailey has managed to provoke a response from Poore which has resulted in him being sent off early in the game, not by punching but by niggling, winding up - whatever you want to call it whilst Poore was trying to show his Machismo.
Further, I am not pushing any kind of cowardly game! I love the biff as much as the next man, but there are times when you can you can take advantage of someone being overly aggressive and it's a legitimate tactic. Poore was hardly discreet when he was putting in the big hits early on and the ref will have taken note, as will the Leeds players.

| Reminded me a bit of the Sculthorpe/Ned Catic scuffle the other year, head to head nose to nose and Scully/Bailey saying "go on then, hit me" and he did. Hard and repeatedly. I must admit, it's great to see your new prop forward get stuck in good and properly and give anybody a good hiding (not least Bailey) but part of me thinks that Bailey had the last laugh and despite the cuts and bruises he did take one for the team and did his usual trick of goading the opposition into doing something daft.
I loved it at the time and cheered poore off the field along with 99% of the trinity fans at the game, now though I have mixed feelings split between thinking its brilliant we have an old style prop who plays the game like I love it to be played that I will love to watch and will get the crowd going and worrying a bit that our new big name NRL signing is a bit of a loose cannon and may need to work on this aspect of his game in order to prevent getting old manned by wind up merchants like bailey
What's poores disciplinary record does anybody know if he has he got previous?

| Poore isn't the sort of forward to be getting in to regular 'doos' all be it he's not scared of a bit of biff
I think he was looking as with any new player make a name for him self on his debut and got carried away
He certainly made a name for his self may be in the way he wanted or maybe not!
The season can not start soon enough for me! I literally can not wait to see Poore and Amore line up on the pitch together!

| Would we rather have had him back away from Bailey or something?
He'll be fine.

| Been talking to one of my pals in Auss about him.
Said he's struggled last couple of seasons, niggling injuries. If you can keep him fit though you'll have a top player

Immaculate. before boxing day he had 178 career games (NRL & SoO) with no red cards.
However, the NRL is refereed differently to SL and players get away with a lot more niggle and indeed a bit of biff. In SL, we know that on a given day Justin Poore may have been told to calm it down by a referee, whilst another ref on another day may have sent him off resulting in a 3 game ban...
You just don't know what you're going to get with he RFL.
