| Quote BarnsleyGull="BarnsleyGull"I think you have to take into account what has already been mentioned. Roof/JB are up against our opponents 1st choice props, as well as the other middles. When Rodders & The Big U come on, they are up against different props - but - crucially - other middles who have been on since the start - so that may account for the higher numbers.
I do agree that Josh has been a bit of an unsung hero too.'"
But how do the stats show that Bowden is 'easily the highest' when it comes to work rate? Even taking into account your comments which Im not sure have that much relevance as opposition also use interchange forwards, usually within the same few minutes. By the way Atoni starts aswell, look at his stats.
I think all of the stats are brilliant, I'm just not sure how we have a front runner in Bowdens work rate being easily the highest in the team.

Don't think i said that....
I think that other than the props that rotate at the same time the other middles are the same - so are more fatigued for when the props have been rotated.

Our interchange forwards are of the same high quality (arguably) as the starting forwards. I've not seen a championship side yet that has that luxury.

| Uele has a real engine on him for a player who plays with high intensity, same with Rodwell. Atoni and Bowden all playing well too.
It’s a sign of players enjoying their rugby to me and having the right mentality to work hard on and off the pitch and roll their sleeves up during the game.
The core of a successful team for years to come is there and young and old, starting or rotating they’re all playing a part.

| It'd be interesting to see those stats alongside the minutes each person played.

| Quote homme vaste="homme vaste"That`s an interesting take PT, how do you get to the fact Bowden`s work rate is easily the highest?
Just looking at the last 6 games the front rowers have played in;

Metres - 496
PC metres - 162
Tackles - 98
Rodwell
Carries - 69
Metres - 643
PC metres - 213
Tackles - 146
Uele
Carries - 65
Metres - 649
PC metres - 255
Tackles - 118
Atoni
Carries - 61
Metres - 589
PC metres - 210
Tackles - 109'"
Because you are not showing the stats on the link I was referring to.

Thought the same when I went through them, it would add greatly to the picture.
Just noticed how insane Griff's stats have been, between 100 and 175 meters per game and god knows how many post-contact metres, whether at centre or back at SR he's been awesome.
I know it's been mentioned but Olphert's stats are also really strong, over 200 meters against Batley, 171 against York, 166 Bradford at home, 185 Bradford 1895 Cup, 142 Sheffield. The lad has done the job that he was brought here to do.

Those stats are the last 6 games including the 2 on the link, if you want to talk about the 2 games on the link only then let's talk about the last game, or are you just ignoring the last game and picking the one single game where he is up there?
Bradford game
Bowden
Carries - 7
Metres - 71
Tackles - 11
Uele
Carries 16
Metres 148
Tackles 22
Rodwell
Carries 16
Metres 134
Tackles 25
Again, how is he easily the highest work rate?

Tbh I didn't see they'd put the earlier games we played up first, I initially could only see the 8 games and later they added the last 2 we've just recently played.
Almost unfair to bring it up but Siddle and Newcastle got steamrolled by our pack, Atoni made 221 meters against Siddle and 193 against Newcastle, Cozza made 251 against Newcastle, and Uele 166 and 155, feel sort of guilty mentioning it against those guys.

Looking at just the last game against Bradford, both the starting props were down on what they'd normally do, Atoni only made 54 meters in his 9 carries and a little better in tackles at 20 but not his usual standard. It was something I could have guessed from just watching the game though that our starting props didn't seem as effective as our interchange. Maybe it's because Bradford's interchange wasn't as good as their starting middles. At this level, all the teams have generally struggled with our continued pressure down the middle, there's just nowhere to hide. One pair comes off then another pair come on, with no weak links.

Bang on Shifty, exactly why it's so hard to judge. On paper it'd be clear to see who we'd be running with should we see a return to Super League but it's not all so easy.
Bowden comes with 12 years worth of experience, got to count for something.

Watch how many times we score after a Bowden setup drive.
Different jobs for different props.
I like all our 'middles' but I just wanted to recognise his contribution as his sometimes goes unnoticed.
