They have said it was a misunderstanding/mistake and they are in full support of the changes.
That's quite a big mistake though. What a mess it would have been if that was a deciding vote.

Quote wrencat1873="wrencat1873"This is going to end in tears.
More smoke and mirrors and some of the "points" awarded for social media etc are just bizarre.
Apparently clubs will be judged by the "quality" of their social media output ??

Online marketing in the modern era is very important and been missed massively by clubs.
We've had plenty of threads on here complaining about Trinity lack of it.
So yes, I think it's an important criteria.

And then all the other clubs supporters don't attend their away games at Wakefield. How much potential income would be lost?

Of course it's important.
However, when you see comments that it's not the "on line traffic" but "the quality of the output", that will be measured, this becomes open to abuse.
Sorry PT but, for any criteria to work, it has to be open, transparent and easily checked and not decided by men in grey suits, in the proverbial smoke filed room.
Of course, there is plenty for us to work on without the grey areas but, again, questions have to be asked on why junior development, which is THE most important area, is not right at the top of the list.
Ultimately, we come back to anything that is decided away from the field of play, not only moves RL away from being a sport but, it also leaves any system open to conjecture and abuse.
We've been here before (under the licensing model) and that didn't end well.

| I haven't seen the quality part you mention. That is definitely not good.
The only time I'd be ok with them judging our output is if they are offering to help, not docking points.

Agreed. The problem is many of the criteria are very woolly with the detail and open to differing interpretation and even manipulation. I remain sure that this is deliberate and a way to get the teams they want in the top league, which i am also convinced includes the likes of Toulouse, York, a London team, etc. Time will tell i guess but given our likely relegation this year there is feeling of the Turkey just having voted for Christmas here as being outside of Super League at its inception and not having the luxury of being a desired expansion club gives us a real problem.

| Is there a cunning plan in play?
Maybe we are happy to be relegated this year, the final season of P&R. (2023)
That would allow us to clear the decks, release players etc & spend 1 year in the championship (2024)
Have we then been promised a place in SL the year after due to the improved facilities at Belle Vue (2025)

Given the relatively low amount of points attributed to stadium criteria and the fact that the ground will be as done as its getting for now by the end of this year anyway i’d say no.

I won’t be. My comment is a response to people saying they would vote with their feet. Such is their right but if they do I’d rather them do it for away games only and not home.
I’m not sure why a number of trinity supporters possibly not attending games would turn into the whole leagues fan base not attending away games. It’s a bit of a leap. That would be very unlikely and not very bright to suggest.
I certainly won’t be protesting or making a point of not attending games. I will always attend every home game as a bare minimum. I did go to almost every away game but presently I’m not going to many of them. The cost of everything is spiralling out of control.

I do think that’s the plan and has been since the IMG was announced. Obviously we needed clarity on some items before voting favour.
