| Quote mattsrhinos1978="mattsrhinos1978"Think 'Excellent prospect' is pushing it a bit, he's a good young player though and a good signing for wakey imo, he needs to add a bit of weight but he's got a good, tall frame that should carry some added size well. His workrate is very good and he's got a bit of class about him. As already mentioned, he had a good loan at York last season as an 18 yearold.
Usually he'd be a player id want Leeds to keep hold of, but we'r loaded with young centres at the moment, Newman and Broadbent are both 21 and already around the England rep teams and Levi Edwards and Max Simpson are both younger, and seen as better, prospects currently.
Think this moves one of them where its a good move for every party involved.'"
You just said an excellent prospect is pushing it then you go ahead and describe the very definition of an excellent prospect.
This one sounds more complex than most. As you say he’s got a lot of competition so it makes sense for him and Leeds, no point being overloaded in one position.
Also a touch of the prodigal here. Clearly thought the grass was greener or wanted the money, either way it didn’t pan out.
Probably the correct move for him before he joins that long list of players who just get lost in the system and just fade away. He’s way more chance of getting a game with us at present with a number of back out injured.
Whether we’ve signed another Atkins or Lyne or a total dud only time will tell.

Supose it depends what you consider an excellent prospect, if you think 'very good workrate' and 'a bit of class' is the definition of an excellent prospect then we have a different definition of an excellent prospect... he's nowhere near what Harry Newman was at the same age, he was an excellent prospect, Levi Edwards is 18 month younger and already better, he's an excellent prospect...Halls a good player, and a Good prospect...And theres nothing wrong with that. Not too hard to understand really.
Now we'v cleared that up, agreed, definitely a good move for him, theres a superleague player there with him if he gets the chances imo, he was extremely unlikely to get them at Leeds, hopefully he goes on to have a good career with you, fitting as wakey were the ones who gave him his chance with a scholarship, that they benefit if he becomes a first team player.

But it’s your description, sorry but you quite literally described an ‘excellent prospect’.

Your clutching at straws now mate,
Iv came here to give a balanced view of a player iv seen quite a lot of for anyone interested that might not of seen him, im not interested in club rivalrys when it comes to young players, the more good ones the better at all clubs imo. Iv gave him plenty of praise and the only thing you want to pick up on is the excellent prospect is pushing it part. Fair enough...
Iv overlooked the stupid emojis, took the time and adressed that part in my reply, if what i wrote initially is your definition of an excellent prospect then fair play, for me its not, but there is no wrong or right in someones definition of somthing. I dont think he's an excellent prospect, i dont think what i wrote defines an excellent prospect...If you do, then thats great, im not here to downplay the lad.
Now you come back with this line, which iv literally just adressed in my last post to you, frankly, it seems like your determinded to create a disagreement where there isnt one.

| Happy to see him back at the club he's done a couple of clubs like Wigan and Leeds and played this last season at York, we usually do well with signings from those north of the river Aire, I think this could be a great signing young British and good pace. That said I still dont get sometimes how we invest and then our own young lads leave, I am no coach so I will leave it to Willie etc his job depends on it, I can se the makings of a cracking young squad coming along here.

| Excellent prospect or not, the last 19 year old centre we signed from a so called bigger club turned out alright. Looking forward to seeing him play.

No you are.
Just look at what you wrote.
I know very little about him but your description is that of an excellent prospect. Don’t see your problem.
Why not just laugh it off, I accept you probably didn’t mean to do it, chill out.

This is where you and a few others are making a critical error. I get why a certain father may have an issue but it shouldn’t bother the rest of us.
We run youth teams in the hope that they will produce first teamers but we don’t owe them the chance, I’m sorry but we don’t, it’s just like any other job. The fact that the lad in question supported the club is even less relevant, I support the club but I don’t expect a game.
It doesn’t even matter if the player we let go is any good, all that matters is that his replacement is better. WP will live or die by these decisions.
It’s strange how people bring in emotions and loyalty but it all seems very selective.
How many players who have professed to love the club moved on to bigger clubs at the first opportunity? Loads. I don’t see the clubs loyalty being appreciated all that often either.
Of course I want to see Academy players make it but nowhere near as much as I want to see the first team win things. In that regard I really don’t care how we come across players.
RL is a pro sport and the people running it have to be ruthless on occasions, we can’t please everyone.

| I have had the nod from someone who knows. It's a good move for the club.
Big step up to SL, but he has the potential to be the real deal.
Ahead of Croft in skills (ATM), and stronger than he looks.
Time will tell, but I trust the judgement of my source implicitly.
