| Quote vastman="vastman"Why does this mean that, that’s an extreme conclusion to jump too.
As for SA, how do you know If he hasn’t played for a year, and when he did he played in a London side that did a good impression of being a SL side.
Isn’t it far more likely that he’s replacing someone like Green?
I’ve said it numerous times, clubs like ours will be looking to sign these multi purpose players. With a squad of 28 we can afford very few specialist players. I think we need to accept that.
We won’t imho be signing any ‘name’ players for a while, at least not until the East stand and the new pitch are in place and new revenue is available. The money simply isn’t there.
Our greatest hope is that our Academy starts to produce big style in the next few years. Things are looking good but we won’t know until we need to use them in anger.'"
Because i read things he did his achillies at start of the season.i also read that he played 14 games for london in sl hes played a total of 45 for london and 29 at skolars, hemel oxford and Sheffield. I assume that that may be end of batch or yep maybe walker as how many utility forwards do we need as he aint an out and out prop his squad number this season was 11.
Like i said i wish him well hope he goes really well and rips it up and while ever he in a trinty shirt ill support him but i certainly not gonna get over excited or think he is going to improve us

But Batch isn’t a utility forward, he’s an out and out SR and a known quantity. He’s played elsewhere but only in absolute emergencies. This lad is a total utility player and a total punt and I suspect he’s coming on the cheap as more or less a trialist.
You’re doing what you always do, going for the worst case scenario, why?
I know this is a forum and people are free to speculate but at least let the dust settle first.
Batchelor may leave I don’t know I’m not his agent and you may be right on that only time will tell. Where I take issue is the way you connect it with this guy and thus add a touch of controversy that simply isn’t there. There is no connection between the signing or non signing of either player except in your head as far as I can see.

Or maybe its just what i get told.
As for worst case scenario thats how i am with everything so say he comes and is below average im not dissappointed but if he is goes well its a bonus.for 1 min dont think i dont want him to do well cos i do i want him to go get man of steel.
I think the club are in a viscous circle at the mo its been stated we are skint and want to sell more STs and for some of us like me we have got or will get but there are some still undecided will SA make people want to buy them i wouldnt of thought so but how do you get the players who will hopefully pursuade peeps to buy without selling them first.
Or regarding batch he covers centre too.

I wouldn’t say he covers centre but I accept he’s played there a few times when we’ve run out of bodies but he’s never been selected to play there.
This guy looks like he can play anywhere in the pack. I don’t see him as first 17 but he could be a useful gap filler. Batch I see as a first choice player.
That said these are my opinions, Poching may see it very differently.

| Just looked him up, not the biggest, but then neither was Nigel Bell. Similar build to the ex leeds player, Darren Fleary.
Not sure when he's off contract, but as he's more a utility player, wonder if Tinny is on his way out.

I thought that but against Hull in the last game I thought Arona looked really strong but that needs to be measured against how poor Hull were that night.
There is no way round it, this lads a punt but I seriously doubt it’s an expensive one.
If he reminds me of anyone it’s Gwaze but I’m assuming he has a bigger skill set.
I also think we are moving away from the size is everything philosophy in the pack. Strength, work rate and endurance taking over. There will always be a place for the big men but the game is so fast now there impact is more limited than it was.
Fifita is clearly our best prop but there is far more to Dave than his size. Next best is Battye and he’s not a big man. We’d do quite well if we had a front row with one Fifita and 3 or 4 Battye type players.

| I'm not sure why we are discussing who he is replacing. Can't he just be a squad signing that we want to develop?
We are short in front row and at 13.

That's pretty much what I said, it seems we can't sign someone without it immediately meaning someone, usually Batchelor, is being cast adrift. Paranoia is the Trinity fans default setting.
As I said, even if say Batch left it doesn't mean it's in any way connected with the arrival of a totally unknown player from London.

| We might have unearthed a rough diamond in this lad , let’s not get the knives out even before he’s had a game for the club. We need fresh blood at the club to stop players getting too comfortable . Let’s hope he comes and rips it up and has players looking over their shoulders and keeping them on their toes .because whatever unfold as in amount of teams up and down next season we need to up around the middle and making a tilt at the playoffs, which I feel the club is more than capable off looking how we finished the season .
