For me Blake Wallace’s kicking game didn’t help Leigh’s cause ,nearly every ball he kicked went straight to hand ,wonder if that lions Maine of a hair style was getting in his line of sight .Enjoyed both games and thought for their first outings had plenty of quality on show .

The two tries conceded in the last 10 mins of the first half were the game breaker.
No question that Wigan were some distance from full strength but, credit to Leigh, who showed they will be no easybeats.

Great game for round one though, really enjoyed it.

Not sure that I go along with "the best performance of any promoted side, ever", which was said numerous times in commentary and I didnt like the stat that Leeds have THE best return in round 1 fixtures in SL - lets hope we can put a dent in that one.

Bear in mind Leigh were also half a dozen starting 17 missing (not the same quality of Wigan’s admittedly) we made a good fist of it - looked knackered after 30 mins but though we competed defensively very well

Perform like that week in week out and get some players back and reckon we have some wins in us - feel more positive after that

Regardless of who Wigan have to come back in they are very weak at Prop.

Burgess was supposed to resolve the issue but that obviously didn’t work out.

Once again it was the young kids in Partington and Byrne who had to step up and take the game to Leigh.

Sidlow dismantled them on his own in his first spell.

If the big men for Trinity are firing I can see no reason why they couldn’t dominate that pack and go a long way to laying a platform for a win.

I don't envisage a cricket score but I really do worry about our leaky defence. It's been going on far too long now and unless we cut out conceding soft tries we don't stand a chance. Not unless CC thinks we're gonna outscore the opposition every game anyway. A rock solid defence and good game management when we're ahead and we'll do just fine.

Fancied our chances more against Leeds than I do against Wigan, who seem to be able to scrape a win when playing poorly.
Having said that we've beaten them a few times over the years and hopefully we can do the same on Thursday.

You cant help thinking that they held a few players back and certainly having French and / or Hastings back in their 17 makes them a whole different side, never mind some of their first choice threequarters.

Do not agree about (if we defend like we did on Saturday) think it's more about cuting out the mistakes ,every try Leeds scored came from a mistake by us .
