Remember that game. Thought Shudds were going to win!

I couldn’t watch it all the way through. I tend not to get emotional about people who I only know through there fame, seems false to me but this did.
Was I sad when Diana died, shocked yes but not upset.
Occasionally though you come across someone who’s gifted and in Robs case modestly famous but who somehow manages to appear ordinary, just like us.
I wasn’t sad for RB the player, it was RB the man , he just seems so human in a way most famous people including sportsman often don’t.
Couldn’t have happened to a nicer man they say, how like the rest of us is that? Who can’t connect to a man or women like that. He represents the thousands of ordinary people who suffer everyday, he doesn’t think he’s special, just unlucky.
Really sad yet oddly uplifting.

Well said, vasty.
From what I've seen Rob is the product of a good upstanding loving family, and that seems to have rubbed off on himself. During his playing days to me, whilst I acknowledged his great skill, he was just another of those pesky Rhino brats that came through at roughly the same time ie Sinfield, JJB, Peacock, Mcguire et al. Didn't you just love to hate them? How mistaken can you be. A genuine hero. Keep battling on Rob owd lad.

And he's such a decent bloke.
It's absolutely gut wrenching to watch a young lad go from where he was just a couple of years ago, to where he is right now.
Superb family and a couple of youngsters.
You'd need a heart of stone not to be moved by the documentary and the lad needs some kind of miracle.
It's so utterly sad and grossly unfair.

| There has to be massive credit given to Leeds and some of their senior guys on how they have dealt with this too.
The support from the club and his ex team mates makes you proud to be involved in RL and Sinfield, has been top drawer with his own efforts
They are certainly doing all they can for both Burrow and the MND charity

| I've said it before but never had any time for Sinfield prior to this. All those Leeds fans dubbing him Sir Kevin Sinfield made my stomach turn but now I actually would like to see him recognized for his efforts.
Burrow has been inspirational in the way he has tackled this and Sinfield no less inspirational in the effort he put into helping out his mate and raising much needed funds for research into this debilitating illness.
I salute both of them.

It demonstrates to me how team spirit is so important and why that Leeds team was so good, they were as one.
By team spirit, I don't mean attending new years eve parties in defiance of the law, I mean team spirit and friendship on and off the pitch for life. See Fox and Brooke for another example.

Not good FIL - unfortunately I think the game had gone so far towards speed and power that injuries to the brain I would have thought were more likely.
You can build muscles to protect the torso but the head is totally unprotected.
I don’t profess to know the answer but if they ever run about equipped like American footballers then that would be the day I stopped watching!

I get your point 1315, but even all the protection that American Football players wear doesn't offer them a great deal of protection. If you've never seen it then the 2015 film "Concussion" starring Will Smith is a very worthwhile watch....
