Yes there will be an election but the only people allowed to vote in it are the councillors themselves.

The majority on the council by far are labour and most of them don't represent Wakefield and don't care about the City.

The outlook is not great . I am hoping there is someone who has the skills and integrity to lead the council in a fair, honest and proper way amongst the Labour ranks.

Totally surprised that the actions of Wakefield Council under Box were not highlighted nationally as the Donnygate scandal was.

Delighted the crook has finally slung his hook. Hopefully the city can move on from his dictatorship.

Perhaps the whole Wakefield Council debacle over the last twenty-one years would have made the national news in the way Donnygate did, wakeytrin, if we'd have had a local newspaper with some guts rather than the sycophantic rag that poses as the "Box can do no wrong", Wakefield Express. A so-called "local" newspaper that is produced and printed in Sheffield. I think their Trinity news is gleaned from information posted on this forum.

Who knows, but this could be the good news Trinity fans were told to expect on the ground front a month back! Joking aside, a real stumbling block out is out of the way now, let's see what the new person brings.

If I recall Jeffries was always sympathetic to our stadium but when push came to shove was far to gutless to stand up to Box.

If she does take over the reigns do you reckon she might offer us a bit more? I’m not talking NM as that’s dead in the water but something better than we currently have?

Without going into a long list of reasons, my opinion is that she will also be standing down very quickly.

I have not the slightest idea who might take over either as I don't think there is that much talent in the council. One thing Box did to stifle all opposition was to make sure no one came on to the council who could ever threaten his position.

However I will say this, Box was very good at stringing us all along and we all thought that eventually we may get something out of all this, when in fact it should now be obvious that there was no intention to do that. I really believe that Yorkcourt will not be contributing a penny and the club will soon be back to where it was 20 years ago in that it will own a crappy ground and have a massive debt to service. This last 20 years has been a sham.

Really? is that as much faith as you have in the current management?

No our present management are great. But they are not supermen or magicians, they will not see a penny from Yorkcourt.
I have no idea where they will get the money from to pay back the ground loan or in fact start the development.
