| It was pretty special - but how do you sell that to casual fans in advance, when it could so easily have been an expensive embarrassment?
As it happens, I had a top night - went over on the train, so no traffic hassles, met my son who is living there for Uni and watched us stuff Leeds together, then went for a few beers in Headingley Taps - and he even paid for a round; so I had two big surprises in one night!

| I'll happily class myself as an arm chair fan these days. Ever since the Fanzine debacle and threatening lawsuits, I lost the love for Wakefield Trinity and although I still offer my support via the merchandise side, I can honestly say I can't remember my last game.
I managed to get a couple of corporate tickets for Fridays game, so decide to go along and feared the worst with Leeds expected to put on a show with the new stadium. Firstly, the facilities at Leeds are top notch and I ended up sat a couple of rows in front of Michael Carter and co. The view was excellent, especially been so close to Johnstone's hat trick. Tupou was immense down the left hand side and it was good to see a solid Wakefield performance at Headingley.
It was also good to see how the away support came across from a different viewpoint and not one where I would normally be stood on the Western Terrace. Wakefield fans were loud as always and the only thing that kept the Leeds fans going is that irritating brass band !!
Overall, it was a good night. Did it give me a taste of what I used to encounter home and away watching the Wakefield rollercoaster ? Indeed it did.
With other sporting commitments on a weekend, it's never easy to spend all weekend letting these occupy your time without the usual family time. For the past 8 years or so, it is Wakefield that has lost my support.
Will things change in the future ? I'm not 100% sure just yet but this armchair fan is definitely considering a return to continue the ride (albeit 8 years too late) again.

| Very well constructed and honest post Roony owd lad. I'm sure the more you watch those tries the more the "calling" will get to you. you and a thousand or so more stayaways returning to the fold will do the Club a world of good.

You don't have to turn up all the time just when you can. I haven't been to an away game in years and between about 2010 to 2016 I wasn't watching all the home games. This year is my first year with a season ticket since 2008. It takes a while to get back into these things though in my case I hadn't fallen out with the club it was other issues some good some bad. Now I'm back into it and I'm just loving it for what it is, a good team playing a decent sport.
Don't even argue wth people on here all that often these days, its important but not that important.
You'd be ok with your fanzine these days because you'd know exactly where you stood, M popbably wouldn't let either of us do one and sell it in the ground

| In terms of fanzine, I'd have thought it would work much better through social media whether Facebook or Instagram.
Or for that matter YouTube.
Your reach is much better too.

I think you’re right AGAIN! Fanzines are old hat now, every rumour, every opinion and every other piece of assorted info is on Facebook and Twitter.
They are not monitored and thus nothing can’t be said and nobody can be censored so why risk putting stuff to print - it’s a shame but time moves on.

Although everything you publish online bears the same legal weight as anything you put in print - so the rules are the same in terms of legality and potential recourse.
I used to love the fanzine culture - I was very involved in several around music and gaming, but I guess the modern equivalent is Blogging and YouTubers - and I expect there would be space for an electronic version related to WT; I'm not really au-fait with how these people monetise, but I know that they do.

True but rarely implimented - far easier risk factor.
It's done via advertising linked to subscriptions, I don't think we'd get enough for it to be worthwhiles tbh.
