When he felt like it which wasn’t often enough.

Matty Holland should have been that player but injuries wrecked his career.

True, but then PopTart made a direct comparison between the two. Mathers though?! He mastered the art at arriving just in time to avoid making a tackle.
I would also agree with Vasty and Martin Holland. He was class, but injuries robbed him of a decent career.

| Mathers are you joking lol.
The Mathers who caused us to be in the record books for fastest try conceded by bottling a carry at fev, or the one who booted dead at salford from 20m out when chasing the game rather than put his body on the line. Or is it the one who threw the ball to the injured Dean collis at magic weekend rather than take a tough carry. Biggest waste of a shirt ever, makes grix look like Billy Slater.
Agree with Blaymire as best sl era fullback BTW.

| Blaymire
Johnstone
Tupou
Atkins - Domic was good, but only really has one full year with us.
BJB
Miller
Brough
Fifita
Aiton
Amor
Solomona
Kirmo
JD
Obst
Lautiti
Watene
England - Never really got the love of Korky. For me, he was a penalty machine, who could never seem to keep hold of the ball in contact.
Agree that Tim Smith was quality, but very inconsistent. Because of this, and if you want consistency, then I would put several half backs in before him.
There are a few of the current team who are very close now, such as Lyne, Ashurst, Wood and Hampshire. Maybe, continued improvement, then this all time SL Team could be different again in a year or so.

| I guess I'm working on the original vote stands unless you chance someone who has played since 2014.
One of the things that makes a difference is that we have a team now.
If Domic or Rooney had played in this team they'd have been lauded at the club.
Even Topliss was not regarded as highly as he should have been until he got to Hull. He was class but they still picked Hughes and Woods in front of him for GB.

I would pick shaggy over Blaymire to be honest.

Toppo was always highly regarded, Leeds and other top clubs would have done anything to sign him; he just played in an era where there was a proliferation of quality stand offs. You've mentioned the brilliant John Woods and Eric Hughes but, such was Toppo's longevity(GB career ,'73-82 and only 4 caps) his career ran alongside Tony Myler IMO the best of all but for injury,Roger Millward, Dennis O'Neill, John Holmes and many others.
Anyhow back to topic, what about Brad Drew being the best hooker to play for WT in the superleague era but not whilst in a WT shirt If I disregard him then Kyle Wood gets my vote; he just gets better and better.

Glad people still remember Tony Myler who’s career was cruelly ruined by injuries. Imo the best British S/O of all time he’d be brilliant in today’s game. Very nearly the equal of Wally Lewis.
Always thought Wrighty had similar qualities.
