| It’s obvious, WT talk legal action, box and co say we can build you a stadium unfortunately that could bankrupt the club so you will never agree to playing there... but hey that’s not our fault is it??
Box and co off the hook, no stadium, no money spent, everyone’s a winner, yes??

| What a load of tosh. None of this stacks up at all. Do they honestly think Yorkcourt are going to pay one penny towards it with their track record. The only way Yorkcourt can be tempted to get involved if they get more planning at Newmarket, then Bingo!! we can go at them once they make that move.
Are 88G going to pay, are they hell.
The council have said they are skint. If they have now found the money to pay for a stadium, why build it on someone elses land ?
They have loads of land of their own which is far better suited and located than trying to make something out of the Belle Vue dump.
The only post for me who really could have something is the one that mentions this may not be what you think. A new stadium could be nothing more than a white fence around a pitch with a couple of bus shelters on the touch line.
One other thing to contemplate. Seems like 88G want MC to sign up to another lease, what happens if he does, how much compensation will they have to pay to turf us off Belle Vue to build a new stadium.

| Quote Murgan="Murgan"We need to release a statement and soon, the more the council communicate the better they look and worse we look. This statement makes it sound like we are totally in the wrong and while I'm inclined to not believe them...why would someone who doesn't support us think anything other than we're being awkward?'"
There will be a statement from the Club and Trust when we are ready but remember the earlier Club statement regarding taking legal advice which is happening and will shape what we do next.
Just remember to beware of Greeks bearing gifts.

If the lease is only for 12 months then nothing.

| Is no one seeing what I'm seeing?
The statement talks about a community stadium "in the district", not "in the city". There is talk of wanting to build one for Trinity but as we won't agree their terms, they're going to build one anyway, but "in the district". Nowhere does it say that it will be at either Newmarket or Belle Vue.
Isn't the Cas stadium faltering slightly? Isn't this the Cas fans on Wakefield Council deciding to build Cas a stadium?

Personally the fact that 88m are involved and own the ground and Hussein is the one giving an actual quote makes me think it's Belle Vue.
I think they're trying to get the fans to turn on MC personally.
Especially when they say
Quote Slugger McBattThe club were offered all income on match days, including all ticket sales, all banquet, restaurant and bars and hospitality boxes. The club would have priority use of the stadium for match days and full access to the ticket office, bars, restaurants and changing facilities along with day-to-day access to the fitness centre and physiotherapy suite. '"
You know some fans will be asking well how much is this rent they're asking for Trinity to to walk away from that offer and potentially have no club. I know there's a bigger picture to all this, but others don't and some others don't care, they just want to get this finally sorted and not have it constantly in the back ground.

| And all the while we get involved in a war of words, nothing is built. WMDC provide the much-vaunted community stadium elsewhere, leaving Manni to build his houses on Belle Vue.
I know there are people on here who know whether what is being said is true, but if it is a community stadium, surely we'd only have a right to the income from match-days? The rest of the time is it for the community?
Or is it: low-rent tenants but match-day income only versus commercial rent and all income?
The devil is in the detail, I guess, but even I'm wondering what is so unreasonable in the Council's proposal. What will the non-fan think? Propaganda battle well and truly won by WMDC.

Is the Trojan Horse reference deliberate, or just a turn of phrase?

| The one thing I would say, being a lawyer, is that most cases start out with an intended and desired outcome. At the last minute, compromises are usually reached. The frustrating thing is always when the compromise reached could have been reached at the outset.

| This statement has been put out for those widespread members of the community who will think how good WMDC are and how bad that nasty MC and the Stadium Trust are. Uuurgghh!! nasty men. Anyone who believes this load of bunkem from Jeffries is very, very gullible.
