Thats a good question. Its easy to answer for the developer as they dont want to pay for the community facilities that they promised.

Why would the council (ie Mr Box) not want the Newmarket stadium to proceed? I believe that there is no way that he would allow the Newmarket stadium to be built before a new one was provided for Castleford. The Castleford project is struggling as it is, and that is without any question over duplicating facilities for the area should the facilities at Newmarket get built.

But our wonderful council will be encouraging them units to be built at Newmarket to help trigger the community stadium build, wouldn't they?

Exactly, why encourage business to Newmarket and have to sneak it outside of the S106 when you can direct it to Cas to aid their cause?

This council leadership is very Castleford centric and does not care much for the City area, hence the lack of support for Newmarket and all the community facilities it would provide. Why are the council not outraged by what has happened at Newmarket ? Because they have manipulated the situation to be exactly as it is to delay everything until Castleford is sorted.

Try contacting the "Rotten Boroughs" section at Private Eye magazine. These bring the dodgy antics of Borough Councils and other public organisations to the notice of the public.

Yes Wakeytrin, it was me. I would do it myself, but I'm not well up enough on the whole Newmarket subject as some others on this forum, and could not put the message across quite as succinctly as those. Sandal cat, How are you fixed???

We have not been idle during what appears to be a period of silence. We are having meetings with various people and I would anticipate that it will not be much longer before everything is in the public domain. We then will need a great deal of support from the public.
