We need a win that's a given, but forgetting Salford getting points back, we're looking over our shoulders at Salford and Hull KR upwards, if we can keep them at arms length then we will make the top 8, I actually think the Leeds v Salford and Hull KR v Wigan tonight are massive, if both results go our way then time is slowly running out for these teams. But a win on Sunday would help us leapfrog Cas and as near as damn it a top 8 place. I'd sooner be in our position than the four teams below us.

That's how I see it. Tbh if we do lose, as long as we don't stink the joint up, it's not the end of the world. We've got Leeds and Saints at home, neither of those 2 are playing well and knowing us and how unpredictable we can be, we could go to Catalans or Wigan and win. Ideally though a win would put us right back on path & settle the old nerves.

On the plus side.
If anyone had said, during pre season, that we would be in 8th spot after 17 rounds, with a chance to go into sixth with a win in round 18, we would have snapped their hand off and they could have been committed to an institution for being delirious.
So lets just hope we can do the business against our bogey team.

I really don't see us getting much from this fixture. I thought Hudds defeat of Saints was the most impressive display of attacking RL this season. We will certainly need to be at the top of our game just to compete and I'd be happy with that win or lose.

I agree with you about the style of football we played at Newcastle, but shows like that are a rare treat from the Giants, We have not been getting thumped but we have a real talent for letting games go that we have really had the winning of.
Obviously I hope we win but I am far from confident, Think we are very much on a par, will as ever depend which teams turn up.
