I really could not understand why the powers that be scrapped the A team. Just senseless to me.

Especially this year, as with a few u19's we do have enough players for a 'A' team as I'm sure other clubs do too. So it wouldn't cost too much extra to bring back

At risk of sounding like a broken record - it was scrapped because SL clubs voted for it to be scrapped - because they didn't want the expense; we were one of the clubs who voted to do so.

For mine, the RFL should compel SL clubs to run an A team as a condition of participation in SL; if it takes money from elsewhere in the club, tough tits.

It's ironic that clubs wanted to drop A teams to cut costs, but then voted for the marquee player.

I'd like to see a A team put into the lower leagues, it worked in football in the amateur scene can't see why it can't work in our game, you just make sure that both side aren't in the same league

Can someone tell us a bit about James Batchelor, he has scored a couple of hat tricks this season already against Leeds and Warrington. Would he be considered for England Academy ?

Played at Crigg as a junior over two spells from u10's to 14's came back and played in 16's after a short spell elsewhere, older brother also a good player in his junior days, can play half but plays his best games at loose, is a local lad and along with his Dad are WAKEFIELD supporters.

I think Chris Ackroyd has got some potential and his game management is class, needs to work on his size over the next year or so but he is a real good HB that in years to come could become a regular first teamer if he carries on his progression. He played open aged Rugby at 16 yrs old for Illingworth to get used to the physicality of the older game and he was outstanding for them. He sure will be one for the coming years.
