I'm not sure where the idea comes from you can get D&D conviction and keep your job, if is was my place you'd be straight out on your ear.

Sportsmen don't live in the real world however, usually they'll get a bollocking or fined internally and they are back in the team.

No dismissals at my place of work for driving offences. Many people lose their job because of subsequent commuting problems if they're banned. I'd certainly struggle to do my 50 mile round trip on a push bike.

I've already posted the facts about drink/driving offences and the options open to the employer; if the club wanted to, I'm almost certain that they could dismiss and that it would be safe to do so.

Personally, whilst what he's done is incredibly stupid and irresponsible, I'm not sure that the moral stance is worth a million quid; if I could play him on Saturday, I would.

From a Rugby point of view it is total madness not to play Tim Smith, he is the only player we have with any creative spark. If for a change the rest of the playing staff decide to put in 100 % on Saturday all they have the ability to do is bash it up ( that`s if they manage to catch the ball ) and that will not be enough to break down the Bradford defense.

Agree Tim should play but he won't because i believe both MC and BS think he should be punished as he has brought the club in to disrepute. However the moral stance although admirable could result in us losing our superleague status., We could not break through the Sheffield deence without him so fat chance of breaking down Bradford

Can't see why some of our fans think Tim Smith should play. He has been woeful all season and has had numerous chances to show his worth but didn't. What makes anyone think he will suddenly turn it on on Saturday. He would be better out of the club and preferably out of the country!

It just goes to show how crap our seasons been when we think about playing smith. hes been bloody awful all season.
however I think we live in hope that for the last game of the season he can unlock something special . It would be great if he could depart Trinity on a high and pay back the fans for a bloody sxxt season, but im not sure he can provide that.
With the departure of Locke it could be open for Smith to be selected and play.
The club must know his mental state and providing he can pull through and the club share that opinion he just might play

He's been poor overall, but the point remains he hasn't been woeful all season. He destroyed Bradford that day and we have no one else who we can replace him with for Saturday. I'm happy to get rid afterwards but it's a massive gamble to leave him out on moral grounds in my opinion

Stevie I cannot remember a single bit of creative play, that has resulted in a try, coming from any other player. Tim Smith is the only player in the squad with any guile, skill and creativity. To not select him is Rugby madness, but as long as we have made a moral standpoint I don`t suppose it matters that we are relegated.

To me it's not a morale issue. It's whether he is fit to play, both physically and mentally.
If he's all over the place because of the legal procedings then he is no good to us.

Personally, I'd just offer him a £2,000 bonus to win the game.
