Quote: Willzay "No fans also means no club. Carter cannot continue to alienate some of the hard core support like he has done in the past and quite rightly deserves criticism in this regard.'"

I don't disagree with any of that but I hope people see the level to which MC and CB have gone to keep the club solvent and allowing it to trade.

I think the both of them would be quite candid about the steep, almost vertices, learning curve they're in with regards some elements of running a sports club.

Criticism is fine by me when warranted but it should be measured and constructive and always given with the knowledge that whatever the circumstances the clubs intentions are good yet sometimes naive or poorly informed.

Its M C club I have said before he can run it as he sees fit. if i had put my house up I would adopt the same attitude. I think hes been on a steep learning curve and during that journey would have been advised to sit on his hands and button his lip from time to time. He seemed to adopt a totally f u attitude and tried to lay the problems at the club firmly at the supporters door.
Its in interests to run the club so eventually he can get his stash back, and you can not blame him for that.
Criticism comes with the job and will come in all sorts of areas, and will quite often split opinions .

That's how I see it. My own view is that he knows how to run a company, and I think time will show that his stance over Belle Vue was spot on, with us playing there next year and with more cash available.

What he has lacked is the sales aspect, the "best thing ever" that Glover brought. The ideal mix would be someone like Carter to run the business and someone like Glover to front the business and the investment.

Carter has rescued the club, of that there is no doubt. In the course of it, he has made it a club that is less welcoming to its customers.

I've always felt, however, that the real villains in our predicament have been the council and Yorkcourt.

Am sure Michael when first encouraged by elston and glover by his own admission did it to make monies not to lose it.
And when they walked or were pushed by him his desire to keep the club going must have been taken with the view of trying to save his investment.
With over 700k extra now comming in to the club with the new sky deal, his chance of that now happening along with the windfall spoke about off payment that all clubs received must have made that more likely.
None of which I disagree with.
Where I do have a conflict is when to move from our home to speed up the process, risks in my opinion, even if a new stadium is promised in the future, the club's very existence.

Its strange how some are of the opinion that if you build it they will come, they being more supporters and better quality players. I can assure you that supporters, and players will not be knocking the door down.
The marketing at the clubs a disgrace , And I don't see that aspect changing .
I was never convinced about the location of the new stadium and from a personal point of view part of me hopes the bloody thing never gets built . Its almost like its the last resort and must be built at all costs.
If and when the new stadium gets the go ahead that's when the club will have to adopt a total change of marketing and seek to make itself more appealing to the Wakey public. Its no good operating from a community stadium without the backing and participation of the community.

Personally, I don't think there was ever any intention to move out of BV without a new stadium to go to; this was an accountant negotiating the cost of the something that he had clearly identified as unreasonable and untenable, and he did so in a pretty straightforward way - the BoI wouldn't respond, so he served notice to get their attention. If it works, the people who criticise that will be singing his praises.

As for the £850k - anyone who thinks he wouldn't want to get that back at some point is clearly unwell.

I don't agree with everything he does and I've been critical of his communication and PR style, but it's hardly surprising that he's developed a siege mentality; the RFL, WMDC, YCP and a large section of the diminishing fanbase seem to be against him - I expect he sits in his office some days feeling like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders.

I do still think though, as I always have, that he needs to invest in a proper marketing expert - that aspect of the club is currently awful.

Walked past the club shop today in the Ridings. Naturally it was closed (why pay someone double time eh?) and the only thing visible from the outside was two small A4 sheets of paper promoting a raffle. Anyone walking past would not have a clue there is an important home game in two weeks time. I don't think you need an expensive marketing guru to sort that situation out!

Other than two more home games where we will be fighting for our super league survival, I can't see anything positive about the club that could be marketed to generate any excitement at the moment.

Yeah, just lacking an announcement that Belle Vue is to be revamped, our debts are wiped out and with BS as the coach for next season we are spending to the full salary cap!
I'd even buy another season ticket and travel to Dewsbury for a couple of seasons if that was announced!
As a Trinity supporter, however, I'll just dream on.

Naturally you'd be in your element at this non event, another piece of propaganda from you to go with the rest of your negativity towards the club, was every other outlet open in the ridings? somehow I doubt it, more likely they'll be enjoying a bank holiday with their families. I might be wrong here but I'm sure everyone what's interested in Wakefield Trinity will know full well the importance of our next home game in a fortnight and won't need reminding of it, but if it makes you happy you have another good old whinge.

Quote: The Avenger "Apparently there are a number of fans who question the commitment to the club of our Chairman.

Well in the hope that this will end any speculation as to his 100% desire to see Wakefield Trinity rise from the ashes of the Elston era, here is some information regarding our accounts.

We seem to have made a small profit from the 2014 season which in turn followed what looked like an inflated profit from the 2013 season. I have never doubted his commitment. He comes in the cats bar and I've seen him personally chat to disgruntled fans and try to sort things out. This is an awesome commitment. Gives me some hope in these uncertain times

The accounts also state£853,500 is owed to Chairman Michael Carter.

I guess for the few even this might not be enough but surely it illustrates that right or wrong the decisions being made are always made with the best of intentions and not designed to cause hurt or hardship.

Can we all get behind this, we are in the fight of our lives and we need to pull together again!'"

Jeez Khlav get a grip. You are so far wide with this one it's got to be a joke.
Plenty of other things to spend our money on than the shop on bank holiday.

And a call out to everyone on the forum. Can we all keep Khlav up to date with the dates for games coming up. I'm kinda disappointed we left him alone on this one. Are we meant to be a rugby family or what!

Poptart it's not so much the shop was closed, and there was plenty open in the Ridings, it's the fact the club hasn't taken a cheap opportunity to advertise the game to potential customers who may come to the match. Existing season ticket holders know when the game is on. This is about attracting the casual fan. If we don't grow the support we'll continue to with the trend of an ever decreasing supporter base meaning the club will find it that bit harder to compete in the future.
