Sts play Warrington on Thursday night so top spot could be decided 4 days before we play Cas. I'd expect Powell to rest a couple of key players ahead of the play offs if Sts have wrapped it up

Powell won't be resting anyone. We could still finish top or 6th which makes a world of difference come play off time.
Today we were ok nothing flash but got the job done despite a busy week on and off the field.hope you lot turn out in good numbers next week.
I think both teams can be very pleased with their seasons after all this game was supposed to be a relegation decider.!!

For me, Saints could be the worst team to top the table if they do it. Normally there is a team that stands head and shoulders above the rest. Saints seem to have clawed their way through the season. If they finish top, fair play, but I can't think of a less impressive team to do it.
If Cas do it, I'd be pleased. Local rivalries aside, it's fairytale stuff. They could well be flying out to Catalan knowing all they need to do is win. Undoubtedly they are the team of the year, and hats off to Daryl Powell. From the Championship to coach of the year.

Saints have two very losable games (Warrington and Huddersfield). Cas have us and Catalan away. Points difference is about the same, and if Cas win both and Saints lose theirs, they'll make it up.
Hell of an achievement if they do it. And it's doable.
My own view is that Cas are the only team these to have been consistently good. Saints haven't been good at all, for a team at the top.'"
Cas wont finish top and the top 4 is no certainty.
It would be great to spoil their party IF we could get a result there next week.

No love for Cas from here either, I've seen and heard too many bitter insults over the years to change my ways. Saints to win the league and Cas to get knocked out in the early stages of the playoffs for me I'm afraid. |
