I'm not one for bagging players but to describe a winger as excellent implies he either scored a bag full, saved at least 1 try, broke tackles whenever he took it in.
I would say he worked quite hard and did better than any of his other games. Not excellent.'"
Stop being a pedant for heavens sake, it wasn't literal just like the Walshaw/ Inglis - so just for you - excellent relative to the poor quality of the game over all and his poor performances up to now - does that help. Do we all need to spell it all out with graphs and spread sheets or can we all use a bit of nous - sorry to sound harsh but come on matey

All about opinions I suppose - didn't reckon much to Scrutton either on Friday personally , whereas someone was telling me he thought he was our best player on the pitch

I actually like spreadsheets. If you could track his progress on some embedded graphs that would be great too.
It is not the first time I have been called pedantic. There is no intention to be rude, just seems to come naturally.

| I thought he caught the odd ball but his work rate compared to Fox and Cockyne is around 30% of theirs. I think the club would be mad to get him on a permenent deal when the liked of Blackmore joined Featherstone

It was his best game in a wakey shirt so far and he did save at least one try with the chase back. Not quite in the excellent bracket but he certainly had a good game. I wouldn't be giving him a three year deal though.

He saved two - one after chasing back a break that everyone else had given up on, and one on our line by chucking himself in front of a London player who was dead set to score, preventing him grounding the ball.
The chase back in particular was a game defining tackle.
I'm not his biggest fan yet, but if we're going to be pedantic, let's deal in facts.

| Owen had a good game last Friday and ran the ball in well, few errors and chased back to save a try in a crucial time of the game. He's also quick.
Let's not kid ourselves we ain't Wigan and if he hits some form and we give him the ball in any sort of space, he'll score some tries. He's also decent cover for full back as long as we secure SL quality players at the right price for next season of which he is one that's all that matters.

All fair enough but I wouldn't be chucking 3 years at him (if that's even the case) its not like he's in demand is it.

| He'll probably score 5/6 before the end of the season and then play his last year out with Cas anyway...We can always put Lynne on one wing next season with Johnstone in the other.

| Quote newgroundb4cas="newgroundb4cas"Don't rate him one bit hardley takes the ball in, doesn't look strong miles better options out there. I would ship him back to Cas tomorrow. Hes very good at pointing with very little work rate.'"
I thought this thread was about Owen not Washbrook.
