Surely it's been quite a busy couple of weeks with ST sales. No update on the site since 9th December. If people are too busy to update it maybe take it off as it looks like nobody is buying. A great sales tool if updated regularly

Of my 9 staff 4 are on annual leave so forgive us if some jobs don't get done this side of Christmas.
I too am quite pleased with this figure given the context of where we are and where we've been. If we can achieve a proper average crowd of 6000 this means 4000 are walking up on the door, meaning more match day revenue which enhances cash flow later on in the year obviously.

Thanks for the update that's great news. Didn't mean to come across as negative it was just one of the staff told me at the Crimbo fair that it was her first job to do Monday morning after a busy weekend of sales and I'd become a bit OCD in my checking of the website for the number to change.

It will be the first time in years I haven't bought a season ticket but that's only because looking at the fixtures it benefits me to pay on the day as I'm gonna miss too many games due to work commitments. I'm sure there are many who are waiting to see how the team performs before they commit to coming regularly again. I believe we do have fairly good support but the nature of a casual supporter is to follow a team who's doing well, that goes for most teams I know but in our case it seems we get a good following built up only to see them disappear again if we have a mediocre season. I think the club have done brilliantly to build a squad again and I am encouraged greatly by what I've seen thus far in the off season. We're getting things right, that can only help to encourage the casual fans to come more regularly and we can build once again from there.

1949 season tickets sold as of now, pity we couldn't have sold 2,000 prior to Xmas.

I could always be more but its a fair amount considering the last few months, those who have not bought like Emley cat will still turn out and pay on the gate.

Overall its positive imo.

That's my fear and I mentioned it on another thread. When people hold back and just attend on an casual basis the club really suffers.

For instance our first home game televised live on a Thursday night. We will have a massive turn out, the trouble is it will all be in the local clubs and pubs. The Wakefield public are notorious for not turning out in a bit of bad weather or when the games live on the telly.

Plus the mess the bulls are in we could struggle to get 4000 for that first game.

Season ticket numbers are healthy all things considering. IMO if we get this right through the transparent approach we now have, we can build on this year on year. This years figure has been hampered by numerous things already mentioned. It has also has been hampered by lack of community staff not being able to get into Schools selling them. I know the progression of the community team is on the agenda but obviously financial stability and a team on paper needed to be the priority. Over the course of 2014 It will be good to see the community team grow and relationships in Schools gained. Delivering key messages and marketing the brand and gaining support!

I have seen first hand the community staff and players inspiring the children when they go into Schools! All this helps to get them interested in rugby league and Wakefield Wildcats!

Last thing slightly off topic but I would love to see Richard Agar deliver a training session with his players at every High School in Wakefield on their School fields in their dinner hour throughout the season. After the session player autographs and leaflets for half and full season tickets for kids to take away. There are only about 12 high Schools but have approximately 15,000 kids!!

Couldn't agree more. A presenace in the schools is a must.
Gone are the days when the players worked in the hardware shop at the end of the street. The club needs to take the product to the schools and colleges.
