I'd like to have got more for Amor but if that's the best offer on the table you have to take it.

Everyone keeps saying this but if the choice is a) Sell some players and have a "Club" to support or b) Hang on to players in the hope that people will buy a Season ticket and then go under.......Which would you prefer??

Before the details of the crisis came out and before we announced we would have to sell players, Season Tickets were put on sale at a bargain price and how many bought them?? Not many.


If we have to sell every player we have that brings in any money and start the season with the Under 19's as our squad I'd do it.
We might not have much of a chance of finishing in the top 12 in that scenario, but we've got more chance than if we can't start the season at all because we've been liquidated.

At the moment it's not about getting a return on player investment, it's survival.
If we weren't skint, Amor and T.Smith (plus more) wouldn't be sold at all.
Although my view may be slightly biased, Amor is better than Chris Hill at Warrington, who the RL world are still in awe of and he's got plenty of years left in him.
I still cant understand why Leeds didn't sign him back up last season

all im saying is if you sell your best players you will lose support and kill interest in the club,this happened in 1979 when the cup final team was sold off lock stock and barrel , we ended up in the second division with dire gates and a poor team the club never really recovered from it ,and has probably lead us to this situation we are in now with no ground and no money . i dont know the answers to the clubs problems,but selling your best players is a dangerous game. and alianates the supporters like it would at any other club. if theres nobody to watch they wont come.

Whereas not selling some of them will kill the club .....

I am fed up of being a laughing stock you say sell and save the club. I believe we have lost or are about to lose 6 senior members of last seasons squad with only limited impact on the 400,000 debt. How many more are to go before we can say yes we have cleared the debt but unfortunately the loss of income from the reduction in season and match tickets sales plus our certain relegation means our salary payments are once again too high and need to be trimmed more. I would be surprised if many of the retained players are on contracts that go beyond 2014 because they know that with the way other teams are recruiting we face only one outcome. I guess we could have two competitive matches against London.

yeah we are all xxxxxxx fed up with it time after time and we are all looking to how we can get out of it. Without being funny what do you suggest the solution is other than sell off players ? All ideas welcome here and on Monday at Belle V

Sell the roofs?

Lets be inivotive. Get rid of shirts and shorts. Lets have the players play in a jump suit next season like a F1 suit. Cover it in sponsors. Media coverage alone should get people wanting to have their name on it!

No super league club has a brand value, in fact as others have posted, neither does the sport really, reason? its not global, or national in all honesty, and theres too much competition for sponsonship at present.

hard times, and time for some realism, too many people have paid too little to watch wltrlfc, and thats right across the board, from freebies, to life members, to sponsors, and mainstream supporters


would be interesting to do an audit of who actually paid to get in on sunday at full price!

Not aware of there being many if any Life Members. My Life Membership (and all others as far as I was aware) was lost when Wakefield Trinity RLFC Ltd went into administration. In any event I didn't use it so and paid to watch so it was not a problem for me.

Not sure of your point about sponsors. If someone has paid to sponsor the match or match ball they are not watching for free they have paid and more than £20 per person.
