The people of Wakefield are not weird (apart from those who hang about in Kirkgate!)they are realists who are sick to death of false dawns. The support Wakefield get is, frankly what they deserve. Diehard supporters plus perhaps 15-20% extra.
When/If Wakefield rise from mediocrity and show some consistency, the real support will show itself - until then make the best of what you have because it won't get any better in the short term.'"
The support they get is more than they deserve in my opinion, especially at the moment. I'm trudging on at 50 yrs old but, I tell you, you have to ask youself why sometimes. I suppose I'll always be there but the last few weeks, except fo Catalans, have been dire and below what I consider our par to be. I think a 50% win rate is reasonable of a good coach with the squad we have. Defeat is not what troubles me, it's the manner of that defeat

| Quote: PopTart "I didn't see the players giving up against Hulll KR or Cas.
A blow out score doesn't mean they gave up.
The biggest problem we have at the moment is ball control. When we give it up easily or drop the pass when we are attacking we are not only killing our attack, we are doubling our defensive effort which means we run out of steam, no matter what effort we are putting in.
Our game is built on quick play the balls and good go forward from the pack. Against cas we had none of that. We didn't keep the ball for long stretches of the game which meant we were constantly trying to push the pass which made it worse.
Carney had a field day mostly because the players were just not able to slide out wide to him. When you are flapping from a distance he is going to just swat you off. We stopped him when Kirmond was over there but it was too late by that stage.
I am certain all the players gave effort, I'm also sure we played badly. The two aren't always the same thing.'"
28 - 0 in the second half at KR is definitely giving up.
There may be other definitions but it is without doubt submission.
Yes there were lots of mistakes but, if you are not fully switched on that's what happens.
Cas wasn't just as bad, but it certainly feels it, because it's Cas.

| You can never ask the lads to give more than they are capable of, all I ask is that they give there all. I think that's the same for the vast majority of Wakefield fans, my casing point for this would be Wigan away, we lost by a margin in the end, but the lads fought tooth and nail on that pitch and I'd hazard a guess that the Wakey fans were louder than the Wigan ones in the end!
My issue is we always seem to have the potential of a good side, then within a season or two we're back to kids, has beens and never was. We have the players out there to win more matches than we are doing. We also have players who need shipping on. But some of Agars coaching decisions have been in explicable and I don't believe he's the man we needed after Kear. Kear did a great job for us, his understudy was never going to be able to build upon that.

You dont go to the games do you? I went to Hull KR and we lost 28-0 that 2nd half it was pathetic all around. If we would have gritted our teeth and tried we may have still lost but 28-0 to a side around us is pathetic. Cas was pathetic 49 points against a side near the bottom is pathetic I am afraid yes Cas played well. The people who go to the games will tell you nobody coaches our defence, same errors every week, Lynn is not upto it give Cowling a shot, recall Mariano etc. Most people will tell you that. If you are happy with the shambles of the last few weeks you must have 0 ambition seriously !

Average team goes through mid season bad form shocker!
Have faith! Agar has delivered one of the most memorable seasons in my 15 of watching Wakey and has a 1/1 strike rate at getting us into the playoffs. Those calling for his head are impatient simpletons at best - have you already forgotten last season? We have to give the guy a chance to get the team firing again, he managed to do it last year so theres no reason to think that this form will go on forever.

Those who disagree with you are simpletons, thats really not the way forward and a touch childish.

| Reality check, the club overachieved last year on the back a good team spirit, a bit of luck and an excellent run of form when it mattered. At the start of this year when expectations were discussed I thought 10th would be a realistic finish for the club. All that I was looking for was an improvement in the woeful defence on display. If anything, this has got worse, and IMO that is something Agar has failed to address. If he can’t improve the players’ defence both individually and collectively then he needs to get someone in whole can.

Ridiculous opinions deserve to be ridiculed. People calling for his head after a few bad performances, especially after last season need their head looking at - and thats my opinion!

Couldn't agree more, we were fortunate last season that we had so many new players and coaching staff, who all came together as a team and wanted to impress and make an impression. That team spirit is what carried us into the playoffs.
Jonh also makes a very interesting and well thought out point regarding conditioning which has contributed to this season's lull. I'm also questioning whether the players are really performing for Agar, does he fully have their respect? I'm not so sure, and after watching the Magic game back, the two dressing rooms at HT couldn't have been any different.
Lets just hope we can show some significant improvement in the remainder of the season

You'll be one of "the sheep" too then (not that you'll be ridiculed or abused for it, mind - this board is open to all).

Bulls points deduction also helped.

That would fall under the bit of luck, along with the two 1 point victories.

Glad to hear it.
Not a case of being a sheep though, it just makes no commercial sense to pay off one coach who has got a relatively decent record with us, to replace him with someone else who may or may not have more success. If we were getting bombed every week, I could understand people wanting him out - but we aren't. (last 2 weeks excepted)
