Maybe RA sees him as being closer to the first team than those mentioned? I have no problem with us signing 19 year old British lads (in fact im delighted) as long as they are better than the ones we already have in that position. RA obviously believes he is.

Agree, only read a little about him myself but I'll trust that the team believe they can work with the kid and turn him to a better player, by the sounds of it he's got all the tools to work with and he's 19 years old, British and we'll have got the lad cheap. |

I guess RA's intentions for Lyne will become clearer when the rest of our ins and outs are sorted.
I haven't seen enough of him to be impressed or not, but given RA's record around recruitment this season, I'm happy to wait and see.

When Reece first burst onto the scene at Hull I thought he was going to be a star. A stand out player at u18/20's with pace and a good physique who scored tries for fun from all over the park. However is transition into a 1st team player just hasn't happened, he seems to be a confidence player who if something goes wrong just lets it play on his mind and goes into his shell. My overall feeling is that he just hasn't got the heart to be a top flight player, doesn't seem to enjoy the physicality of the game. That said maybe a fresh start is what he needs.

Can't believe people are bagging him before he's even pulled on the shirt. Probably the same folk who were bagging agar and Tim smith not too long ago! Let the lad get a good pre season under him and a few games for us under his belt before we judge him. Obviously the coaching staff see something they can work with as he's bagged a 3 year deal. Who'd have thought raleigh would clean up at our awards night twelve months ago? Who'd have thought that Sykes on loan would totally transform out season? Just because he has been regarded as surplus to requirements to the god that is Peter gentle doesn't make him a bad player. I know nothing I this lad but I'm prepared to give him a fair amount if time to prove his worth or otherwise.
