| Quote bellycouldtackle="bellycouldtackle"Hope this week we have taught the players how to tackle round the legs, how to catch a ball, how to protect a player trying to catch a ball from a kick, to understand that we are alllowed to tackle and put pressure on their playmakers and not just allow Smith and Holdsworth to do as they wish. That we are allowed to be agressive in defence and that our line speed is allowed to be faster than a slow walk and that when the defencive line has moved forward three slow steps we do not have to stop and wait for the attacking player to get up to full speed. Having won only two games we need to see some of the players who have performed so well in the under 20`s `get a chance. We need to select Ellis and Wildie, Aiton at 13 with Washbrook and Kirmond in the second row. No point in playing Collis again as he never finishes a game. I would go with, players who have shown some desire in previous games, players who have played well in the 20`s and players who take the line on rather thhan move sideways and players who can tackle. A mostly English team who given a chance will improve, they may not win but they will give 100%

I'd go with all of your comment and most of your team, not sure about John in the centres instead of Mellars (both have disappointed so far however Mellars is a centre and we should play people in position IMO, although if we need to switch around during the game i can see the idea of having John involved.
I'd also be dissapointed not to see Mariano on the bench instead of Walshaw or Tout.
Aiton at 13 is a must for me and a hard working pair in Washbrook and Kirmond in the second row too.
Matt James did enough (coming on as a sub against Leeds) to warrant another run out too.

| Quote asmadasa="asmadasa"Come on Trinity! Show the form that was shown against Catalan!
Think the team possibly should be:-
1. Mathers
2. Fox
3. Collis
4. Sykes
5. Cockayne
6. Wood
7. Smith
8. Wilkes
9. Aiton
10. Amor
11. Kirmond
12. Walshaw
13. Washbrook
Subs. Raleigh, Southern, James/Mariano & Ellis.
Think we need to pack the bench with forwards to ensure there is a consistent platform being built for the backs. If there is a need to replace a back then Washbrook/Kirmond/Walshaw can move over and do a job. If Southern is injured then bring in Johnson who scored twice in the reserves. Come on Trinity perform for 80 minutes!
'"
I think you may be our "coach in waiting" although i'd go for Johnson ove Southern at the mo.
We certainly need to have a strong bench, again Ellis or Wilde would be good.

| I'd stick walshaw in the centre. I know he's seen as a second row by the coaching staff but i'd like to see him running out wide at either Gleeson or Gibson, whoever they pick. Don't see what Mellers has done to justify inclusion. Wildie as interchange hooker on the bench with wood starting at scrum half with one of John or Smoith alingside him.

He has covered for injuries at centre twice this year, last week at leeds and at Warrington. He has also scored in both games whilst doing so, his only tries so far!

| I don't understand the need to blindly put both Ellis and Wildie in when no one has really seen them play (certainly in first team)
I'm all for Wood being in the halves with Smith but I'd keep Aiton at hooker. I don't think I like him and Washbrook in the back row. We are losing size doing that.
I was also against putting John in the centre but The boyem's reasoning looks good so am prepared to give it a go.
I'd go with
Mathers
Fox
Sykes
John
Cockayne
Smith
Wood
Amor
Aiton
Raleigh
Kirmond
Southern (if fit)
Washbrook
Wildie
James
Wilkes
Walshaw

| Anything other than a win will see a million and one threads of doom and gloom about how we're out of the cup, have nothing to play for in the league and our season is as good as over. I've already heard similar mumblings this week.

Other than a few blips, pretty much a standard season then!

Why would you have 3 forwards and a Centre on the bench? Drop Walshaw and replace with Ellis then it's OK.
