Could it be that at Wakefield he is allowed to sign and play the players that HE thinks are best for the club and not the board.

Its too early for us to pass judgement, but the first impressions are very good.
Between Agar and James Elston we have assembled a competetive squad, with plenty of youngsters in there and only time will tell.
Maybe your club should be looking at its own youth set up and perhaps the upper management need too have a good hard look at themselves.
Seem to remember Kear being sacked when you were in 4th or 5th because the big wigs thought you should have been doing better

| Quote berro's best mate="berro's best mate"just wondering what the wildcats fans think of his appointment so far, good or bad..... just whilst having conversations with many fc fans, the main judge on agar is that he was completely out his depth at fc and in superleague....devout of ideas and a personality for a start.... in my opinion, for whatever reason he couldnt get results with a team in which he put together and was spending the full cap whilst he was coach was bordering on embarrasing......
thoughts??'"
My first answer is, he's great. Only a short term to judge but he's done everything I expect so far and won us a game where tactics were a key part of the win.
It doesn't bother me about Hull FC. There were a lot of reasons why Hull didn't perform to expectation and whether they were Agar's fault or not, I'm happy if he learns from them and becomes a better coach with us.
Can't understand why the Hull 'devout' followers have such an issue with him even after he has left.
Quote berro's best mate="berro's best mate":i can understand that......yet it was agar who thought it better to buy players well past there best and not give a single kid a chance at fc..........since gentles took over we have a new 7 in danny nicholas. who started on sunday....agar didnt even bother with youth....'"
As for this bit.....Danny Nicholas made his debut in 2010. Get your facts straight if you want to make a point like that.
Guess we'll see how good Hull FC are without Agar over the coming months. I'd worry about that more than Wakefield and our new coach.

Which ones were well past their best? We'll take O'Meley off your hands for a few weeks if you like. Or Sam Moa?
and I'm also happy with Danny Washbrook so far. He was surplus at Hull but looks great for us. Different players (and coaches) obviously perform differently in a new environment.

| Too early to tell really, but so far so good.
He played Wood to good effect at Widnes, and left the older Ellis out of the squad.

| As I am led to believe his team selection was hindered by the board at Hull, that said this is second hand information so I am not going to stake my life on it.
But if this is the case I wish you guys all the luck in the world with future team selection issues.

| I think we the Wakefield fans should have a well deserved pat on the back. Yes we couldve made him feel unwelcome , gave him some stick , had a total downer on him. But we have been positive let him do things his way and so far its paid off.

| For what its worth I think he will do OK for you guys. For me he was always a cheap option when Peter Sharp was sacked and he had 18 months of a lot of players being injured. He seemed to lack passion or motivation when we played/lost against the Dobbins which irked me. He certainly was'nt helped by the last board with regards to player recruitment etc. either. You lot seem happy with him, we are happy with our new coach so lets just get on with it all and try to remain friends, thats what I say!

Wow. That was a very considered answer compared to some of your club's other less balanced view fans.
Be careful. They'll make you sit on your own if they find out who you are.
Apart from the snipes at Agar this year, I think Wakefield has always had a good relationship with Hull fans and club. I've always had a soft spot since the 80s kiwi trio, Topliss and Sterling days when I used to watch Hull a lot.
