How does an under 16 prove his/hers age, they have no obligation to carry ID with them and the only legal document proving ones age at Under 16 years old is a passport and at 50 quid a throw I doubt I'll llet my lad take his to the games or your birthcertificate

Many kids use a young persons bus pass. They cost a few quid and can be applied for using a passport or birth certificate at the bus station. You would need a passport photo.

My kids have used them in order to claim the child rates on bus journeys, but they come in use for other things - like the cinema - as proof of age.

In 1947 my mate manned one of the turnstiles and I would go down to Belle Vue early and he would let me crawl under the turnstiles
