That would be my next choice, forward passes have got out of hand and it won't be long, before the wing will be running down the field, to take the pass, ala NFL style.

Mr Wood was on 5Live Sports Xtra. What he said was that there will definitely be 1, possibly 2 clubs (depending on whether Halifax are given entry) dropping from the current teams that are in Super League. His rambling merely reiterated that the future for the English game will be very deluded under his tenure.

For what it's worth, John Kear (who is commentating on the wireless this evening) was very vocal in response to Dave Woods' badgering. He was asked that as favourites for demotion, would Wakefield do as Widnes did and build to be back in 3 years time. Kear's answer was simply it is a disgrace to even consider the fact that Wakefield should be dropped. He made the much overlooked point that movement from Championship to Super League is very strongly judged on winning one of the two competitions. Super League assessment is not judged on who finishes bottom, and for us to be dropped without having ever finished bottom of the league is wrong.

I fear that if Halifax are not successful this time around, they will be next time. Unfortunately the way the license system is shaping up is that every 3 years if another expansion club hasn't been formed and fast tracked, a pity license will be issued to those who try and try again.
