| The longer they keep it (in theory) the more detailed the viewing of the application, which benefits us in a great many respects. Our case for a community stadium is sound & has the backing of the LA, the location has been proven in a great many studies (some by YK others by WMDC) and has the backing of the LA, the need for employment has been proven by the LA & central gov and again has the backing of the LA.
Where as our opponents claims and arguments.... Well we all saw how thin they were on the 22nd of Oct.
A wait may be frustrating but it will do us good in the long run, this way there can never be any counter claims by opponents as everything will have been gone through with a fine tooth comb now. If we get the nod now that's it, no if's, no but's. You could even think of this as a mini PI.- Which judging on the stance of the LA and the willingness to spend will be as much of a PI as we get.
Applications with the support of the LA are less likely to be pulled in anyway but this fits now more than ever in the days of "localism". But we can't take anything for granted being Trinity fans.
FWIW I still think we will get what we all want for Xmas.

We are disappointed and frustrated by the delay, but we believe the delay itself may suggest a positive outcome.
It's all guesswork though, based on knowledge from other schemes and from talking to people who know these things better than we do.

Unfortunatley not, still printing rubbish in the messenger and putting up posters titled, "no news is good news".

Maybe it's a ploy whereby they release the news just before they close for xmas so there is nothing anyone can do in the immediate aftermath. If that's what happens, I hope its the NIMBY's who are crying into their eggnog!

Yes but I have also heard that a certain Mrs Electric-Guitar is now infuriated with the central government as well as local.
Apparently she is enraged the SoS has not asked her (or her associated groups) for further information from their objection.
Can we say delusions of grandeur?
Get your priorities right Mr Pickles, she wants her say too

| I will once again bet TRB's house it will come before Christmas and probably sooner!
Remember, the guide decision time frame is 28 days from receipt at the government office. There is a reason for this and that is of course causing a developer unnecessary delay if you then send it to PI. I very much doubt they will go over 56 days as that will have doubled the guided period for a decision.
As for releasing the decision just before Christmas Tricky2309, as there is nothing that can be done to change anything post decision, other than celebrate or spend Christmas preparing for a PI, the timing makes no difference. The only course of action anyone can take after this will be at the ballot box!
As TRB has said, we have been told that in the EXPERIENCE of many knowledgeable people a delay tends to be good news rather than bad and that is a genuine opinion, but as everyone knows, it is still a political decision and it might not be the new we are hoping for! This is not anyone edging their bets or trying to soften the blow for negative news, we are being told that it probably will be good news, but other than Eric Pickles and the people in his government office, know one knows anything! That includes June Fender and Andrew Booth and the NIMBY's.
I think it will come next week, but that is just a gut feeling and total guess!

I heard the same opinion yesterday, from someone who is very definitely in the know.

| Fingers crossed that reason wins through.
IA: Could the holding direction be down to getting the travel plan sorted with the HA? Mediating so to speak? Just a thought.

| Could that be why item 13 "Rugby League" is marked restricted?
Could the WMDC already have the documentation back and are classing it as restricted to keep it out of the press and public domain until they can announce it on the 14th?
We all know how Boxy loves the show pieces & I have always said when it comes off he will be the one to take the credit publicly, this in his mind could be his "legacy to the people of Wakefield".
Chances are this is when we will get ratification on our land loan at Springfield Grove in Flanshaw. Along with Cas (if they've got it sorted yet- although it appears they are now selling their land not borrowing against it)
