It is a blow for Cas, but who is our 'shining light' to build the team around. That's more of a concern to me.

| Quote Sandal Wild Cat="Sandal Wild Cat"I've said this all week. Cas are as broke as we are- except we don't have to find 11M+ to fund a stadium.
Even if they sell Joe (who I've never rated) and get the application in they'll still be no better off as they can't afford the build!
IMO the FPP application isn't the crucial one for CT, the Ben Bailey application on WR will be much more significant. That will show a commitment from BB- and will prove to entail a better deal for them. BB have the option to buy WR within the next 12 months- nothing concrete before- and without that sale they will never be in a position to do anything more than apply for PP. FACT.
IMO Cas will be looking at 2013 at the earliest.
(as i've said before for the benefit of the majority of Cas fans I hope GH comes off- but in the case of Amber- I hope it never happens- just to see the worm wriggle!)'"
Ben Baileys won't sign anything or pay a penny until planning permission is fully granted for Houses on the WR site. Something we did 2 years ago. They keep telling us that they were in front of us in the stadium race but seem to totally ignore this very important fact. I don't know how easy it will be to getting planning permission for land with such a toxic history!

westerman is cas through and through and they havnt been able to keep hold of him. Massive blow for them. Massive!
'"
How can Westerman be Cas through and through? He stated he wanted to leave, so do the club let him leave for free or take the 175K offer from Hull and sign a player who wants to play for the team.

I'd estimate anywhere in the region of 6 weeks to 12 months depending on how urgent BB seem to think creating a plan and getting permission is to them and their own agenda- which has nothing to do with RL or SL or any of our time constraints.

| If BB are using the option (which only cost the £200,000) to "land bank" until the future of the Hicksons site is known that could be potentially devastating for Cas.

I agree and it's very poor business by Hull when you consider he was on their books as a junior!

| I think it is very good business to be honest. He didnt want to play for us, we need th money obviously, Hull were willing to pay over the odds IMO.
Westy is a good player but has been nowhere near the player he should be by now, maybe thats Mattersons fault or maybe its a players desire?? who knows.
Its not such a big blow to the team dynamics as he was playing the same sort of game that Ferres plays only Ferres is playing better IMO.
Theres no denying the stadium is the hot topic at the moment, i cant see the stadium not being built at GH but im not so sure it will be for 2012 TBH, same for Wakefield, i believe it will get called in and eventually granted (i thoroughly hope so as a Wakefield resident), but with the news that you have a solid (and very good) plan B, i think you will be in SL for a very long time, i just hope we are aswel.

| I think Westerman got too big for his boots and his performances suffered.
A new start is what he needs and he will get that at Hull.
I personally believe they have paid well over the odds for him and i am not sure if he is ever going to fulfill his undoubted potential.

It's not Castlefords business savvy I'm questioning TBH.
