Quote RebelRebel="RebelRebel"To all those who thought that JK's position was untenable after the approach from Catalans, and thought he would no longer be able to command the respect of the players and motive them:
Do you still think this is true?
Was it a fluke?
What do you think helped us win this match?'"
The result was a major surprise to me. It would have been easy for the team to go at the game half hearted given the Catalan episode and the travel disruption, they would have had any number of ready made excuses. To theirs and the managers credit they didn't and the manner of the victory (to me at least) shows that JK still commands the players respect.
I couldn't make the game so only have the radio commentary to go on but it didn't sound like a fluke, and the fact the victory was so emphatic would also suggest likewise. The proof in the pudding will be if we manage to put in that same level of performance for the next few games.
I have no idea what the difference was in the approach to this game and the Catalan & Wigan games. Millard back? Leano's influence? End of Les Cats speculation? Inspiring team talk? I don't know if it was any of these, I'd be intrigued to find out though.
